Ah, I was going to ask if the name-choice Ivan is a Russian fairy-tale shout-out but then you mentioned that in the notes \o/
EEEEE. Even knowing what was going on, this fic was still SO. MUCH. FUN. Fake BDSM for the win! It's cryptic in the best possible way, so that the final denouement (awesome scene!) makes perfect sense and slots everything into place. And I love the details in this: the dilapidated old house and the dried-up well, the leather and chains, the room with the ugly candles, and heh, "incestous hillbilly cannibals".
Ivan's POV is great-- showing us both what we're already familiar with (albeit in our happy, shippy way) and what's really freaky. Poor guy had his fair share of horror though. The whole thing from his eyes is almost hysterical. He comes across as the spoiled brat who drawls his speech (and thinks "Suga Suga" is sexy) but also probably has an imagination that Sam and Dean could easily utilize. His Uncle Cornelius sounds like a great dude. :D And as always, your Sam and Dean are great. They're funny, and ingenious, delightfully conniving, and perfectly willing to terrorize a poor rich brat to get what they want. They're so them. And making them so them in an Outsider POV story should be pretty darn difficult, so that's awesome.
And the art is just absolutely wonderful, of course.
Kudos for catching the reference in Ivan's name :D You'd know fairytales! And thank you so much for all the lovely feedback. You knew the twist, of course, so I'm particularly happy that you found it all to be a lot of fun. And that you like the chicken bone dragon - isn't that the coolest drawing of it? :D Cassiopeia7 drew those large rodent incisors! I was super pleased and impressed.
Thank you for the loveliest comment. I'm delighted that you enjoyed this.
