SDMB is stalled because of voice and POV crap :/ Writing, why so hard but so fun?

Speaking of things that are hard but fun, I feel like this guy:

Yesterday, I went for a run and kinda smacked into a wall? It involved a very complex bit of acrobatics. There is an abandoned restaurant down on the beach sitting very close to the water, which leaves a narrow passage between its wall and the Caribbean sea. I jumped aside to avoid a wave and head-butted the restaurant. I know. But all is well that ends well, and after making sure that I wasn't dizzy or gushing blood, I stopped by the campus clinic in hopes that they'd give me some alcohol wipes and kiss it better. They checked my blood pressure because protocol and went, Good job! And I went, \o/ Fuck yeah cardiovascular endurance. And now I have a bruised shoulder and a scraped and bruised forehead, and I can't wait to go to the anatomy lab and show off to the boys.

If there is one situation where minor injuries are stuff to be proud of, it's when they're earned while running. I don't know what it is - it's not as if I liked running into walls or straining muscles. But man, when you went and did something strenuous and pushed your body hard, these bruises are like battle scars. It will never not be weird how running turns everything on its head: tiredness, injuries, dirt, getting rained on, these things suddenly turn good. Distance running always makes me feel like one of those new moms that can't shut up about their beloved and won't stop with the Facebook photos. Like, look, I got poop on me, how adorable is that?? That's how I feel about running. I just want to hold it to my heart and kiss it and tell the world how awesome it is.

Off-topic: Anybody happens to know how to get mold off leather? Dominica is awesome like that.
