A witch appears in the Nexus hub, looking more inconvenienced than surprised to be there. This isn't her first experience with interdimensional travel, and so far no one's shooting her; marking a noted improvement. Besides, something's been weighing on her mind for a while, and this seems like as good a place as any to get it off her chest.

Hey there, Wanda! Have a slightly confused-looking mutant.

"...Weren't you gettin' married to Dr. Doom?"

"I'm quite sure you have me confused with someone else." Wanda's never seen Bishop in person before, and her intel on him is spotty at best. "I've never met the man." She frowns, but offers a hand all the same. Good manners must prevail until someone's earned otherwise. "Wanda Maximoff. Also called the Scarlett Witch."

"...Guess I must be." Probably some AU or another, no big deal.

He went ahead and gave her a solid handshake. "The name is Bishop, Ms. Maximoff. I'm with the X-men."

Well, kind of. Once an X, always an X, right? Anyway, it's enough to let her know he's probably aware of the basic issues at stake.

"Now, you were sayin' about someone misrepresenting themselves to you?" Probably Magneto, sure, but who knows what's going on with her AU life-story.

"Bishop, yes. From the future." She smiles. "Kurt mentioned you." Actually, the Genoshan spies she inherited from her father mentioned him, but there's no need to get into that just yet.

You don't dismiss everything. Through experience you figure out what's true and what's works for you and jettison all the rest. Nobody can lie all the time and about everything. Just go out there and live, on your own terms.

You can't let one person destroy your life.

She sighs. "And if the consequences of figuring that out could be disastrous? I have a nation to run, I can hardly afford mistakes."

You won't like to hear this, Süße, but it's impossible to completely avoid making mistakes. All you can do is your best: give everything a lot of thought and research, find brilliant and experienced people to take advice from. Being afraid of making decisions and thus doing nothing is also a choice, and not a good one.
