Somewhat Annoyed Dee-Lorean

What looks like a little six-year-old girl slinks into the Nexus, frowning in a slightly sulky way. She makes her way to the most comfortable-looking armchair, tests the cushion, then plonks herself down in it, arms folded. She regards the Nexus critically for a moment. "I'm actually a car -- I can just turn into this," she announces. "And I need ( Read more... )

Clark's not in the greatest of mental states, after his death-resurrection-and-addiction jag, but he's getting better and he feels okay being in the Nexus again. And of course he has to smile a little when he recognizes the girl. "Humans can be kind of funny when it comes to the bits inside people."

"Clark! Hi!" Dee grins up at him. "Yeah, I guess, but I'm always in car form when Daddy tries to fix me. Shouldn't he be used to that sort of thing?"

"Hey, Dee." His smile broadens a little, for her, though he's not feeling entirely happy at the moment. He pretends for the sake of the kid, though.

"You'd think so, but he hasn't worked on a living car before. At least not as far as I know. It's different when you know the car is watching you and feeling everything you do, probably."

"Not as far as I know either," Dee nods. She frowns. "But I told him it doesn't hurt. . .I dunno if I really even feel when I'm like the car." The scientific method must be applied to this. "I dunno what to do. I don't wanna be broken forever." She doesn't like it in the least.

"Not sure what to tell ya," Farley says, frowning. "Might have something to do with your newfound sentience, but..." He looks at Dee for a second, wondering if he should try to explain Doc's faerie-induced PTSD.

"I've told him bunches of times it's okay," Dee says, frowning back up at Farley. "I know it's probably weird, but I don't talk or anything when I'm the car." She'd probably like something of an explanation, but she is also six. . . .

"Maybe, but now that you're alive, he might be thinking of it like replacing someone's veins or nervous system, and for all he knows, screwing up might affect your human body." Farley shrugs - what can you do? "It doesn't help that, well... you know all those gears and vents in his body?"

Dee blinks. She never really considered that before. "But -- me being all beat up as a car doesn't affect me like this," she points out. "I can run around and eat and all that human stuff. And I really want my car form fixed up." She frowns as he mentions those. "Yeah. I wanted to ask him more about those, but he -- it was something bad, wasn't it?" she says in a lower voice. "Marty and Victor and Alice don't want to talk about it either."

Once again Prince Arthur has wandered into the Nexus and hearing the question looks at Dee somewhat confused.

"Repairs? Don't you mean healing you? Or is this some...future terminology?"

Being a time machine, Dee has a bit of a sense of timelines, and she can tell this guy's not from this time period. (As if the mention of "future terminology" didn't give it away.) "It's more complicated than that," Dee says, hopping up. "I'm usually like this."

And then there was a large DeLorean sitting where she was standing. It's obviously seen better days, and has a complex assembly of vacuum tubes strapped to the front hood. Arthur will probably end up staring.

It's a good thing Arthur's divan happens to be hehind him right now, because he sort of...falls into it in comomplete shock.

What was this...thing?

Where had the girl gone?! What the Hell was happening?

The thing honks at him, then turns back into the girl. "Uh, yeah," she says, looking at his expression. "Are you okay? I don't bite. Honest."
