The Chancellor is back again, standing, looking around, and finally speaking, lips unmoving as ever.

But it's been a little while and some things are different, now. And while he looks around as if checking to make sure who isn't there, it isn't quite as thoroughly as he's done so before.

"We would appreciate any perspectives on ... integration," he says. "There are two governments of humanity in our facet of reality, finally able to interact with each other. They like each other. They wish to work together. They need to work together, as a matter of survival. But the larger, more technologically advanced of the two has one vernacular language, one universally-practiced and socially permeating religion, and generally one very close-knit culture. The considerably less technologically advanced branch -- which is so due merely to circumstances and not a lesser ability among the people themselves -- is a secular state with many religions, each with many variations. They speak hundreds of different languages and have many different ways of functioning socially."

A pause. "Is it excessive paranoia to think there may be difficulties in sharing vital information and technology and generally bringing 'the other side of the family' up to speed without accidentally pressuring them to confirm to 'normal' standards?"
