"I think that ship has sailed," Ignis says, wandering up to his best friend and looking utterly unconcerned about this strange place (he's been her a little while already. Call it cheating if you want, Eclat, I know you will). "You've been crazy for a long time. Long as I can remember."
"Now that is a good question, and one with many different answers. I tend to think you've reached your sell-by date in the sanity department when you start outsmarting yourself. Take that to mean what you will."
He adds, "Just walking into another universe isn't grounds for commitment, mind you."
Eclat ponders this for a moment, then nods. "Good point."
"Is that where we are?" He raises an eyebrow at the surroundings, not sure whether to be pleased or disappointed. "It might be, though, if you told other people about it."
"If you're crazy, then so is everyone else." The blue haired teen chirped cheerfully. "But if you're going crazy-crazy, I guess you can tell if people leave the room when you come in, or just nod and smile at whatever you're saying."
I think people throw the word "crazy" around too easily. If life is crazy, what's sanity? Besides, you actually have walked into a room that wasn't there before, and some people accused of having delusions of grandeur actually have the abilities to back themselves up.
Crazy people rarely know they are crazy. So I suppose you could say that the most readily apparent symptom of insanity is the persistent belief that one is perfectly sane.

"Strictly speaking, not a universe unto itself, but a point where several intersect. The locals call it 'the Nexus'."
He ponders this. "I've often thought if we had no filter between what we think and what we say, we'd all be locked up."

"... Really? You're not making this up? Because if this is some kind of joke, today is kind of a bad day for me."

Then watch him close it again, thoughtfully.
"... You know, I think I just learned something here. Maybe insanity isn't in what we perceive, but in what we do about it."
