"No, I don't suppose you can," Eric admits with a tiny smile. He's had his own experiences with royal minions; although in the vampire world, one didn't become a representative of the Queen (or King) by being obtuse.

"In that case, you may just have to suck it up."

That was totally just a modern expression, not any lame attempt at vampire-related humor.
