A small, black and white cat appears (as cats are wont to do - they have no need of the conventional means of travel so many bigger folk are burdened by), and makes his way to a soft and comfortable chair, which he claims as his own, curled up in a neat ball with his paws tucked under him and his tail draped oh-so-fastidiously around him.

"So," says the cat (for he is a cat, even if sometimes he doesn't look like a cat at all), "let us imagine that you have a thing, any thing at all, and you have made it disappear. When would be the most. . . entertaining moment to make it re-appear again?"
