J sprawls out on a couch and fishes out a cigarette. "Ok, ok, I've got one for you all. At what point does love stop being a good enough reason to keep people together?"
He searches his pockets one by one, then sighs. "And does anyone have a light?"

Well kind of, he's looking a bit worse for wear, his forearm wrapped in bandages (21st century medical treatment sucks).
"Hey, it's J!" He gives him a wave with his good arm and flops down on his couch.
He reaches under it and produces a lighter. "Here you go," he tosses it over.
And rather studiously avoids the actual question.

"Looks like you got yourself in a bit of bother without me." He gestures to John's arm. "What happened there?"

"Oh this? Er...bit of unpleasantness...sword fighting is not a game."
He scratches his head, with his good arm. "Unless it, you know is...make sure you've got that clear though."

She could go on like this. For a long time. A very long time. At least it might be better than her love-is-destruction rants? But that will probably come eventually at this rate.

"I don't believe in anything like that!"
Only, only, there'd been a moment in the recent past, just one fleeting moment, one moment and one person who'd made her think, made her think- And then she'd found out what he'd been keeping from her. That all his words about it being possible, all his point-by-point refutation of her point-by-point thesis on its impossibility, had been a trap, a trick, a lie, or certainly a hiding of the truth.
"I hate it."
