J's made an effort today to look smart and snazzy and all that jazz. Though it just doesn't quite compare to his friend who pretty much radiates sophistication. It doesn't matter all that much to J who knows he's more fun has his hands all over Liam. Liam accepts the manhandling, although he'll make an effort to keep things decent. For the children

"There have been a total of five over the centuries, Sir, but the first and the last I am not able to speak of. And the other three are dead." This comes from a small, pale teenager dressed in form-fitting black leather.

"Sorry to hear that," Liam says, sobering up a bit. An immortal, by the sound of it. "Still, there'll be others, if not on your world then somewhere-" he makes a grand gesture towards the multiverse, "-out there."

Val smiles and nods. "Yes, most were in my own world, but the most recent I met here. I do not think I will be losing him for a very long time, though. At least, I hope not." Though even the almost-three-decades is still little more than a blink of the eye, for Val.

"You've got a remarkable attitude for your situation," Liam says with a half-smile in return. "Best of luck to you and your boy."

"Thank you, Sir. I suppose it helps that I intend to go find him once he's gone. I've already told him so."

"Please, it's Liam. Or Mr. Dover, if you really insist." He untangles himself from J enough to offer his hand.

He takes the hand shyly. "Val. Thank you. It's an honor to meet you, S - Liam."

Have a handshake, Val. "The honor is all mine, Val. Which world are you from?"

[slaveprince]

"One of the Earth's. The history seems to be mostly the same, but there are some cultural differences."

[thegreat1ncewas]

"Same, although my fiancé is from... elsewhere." He shrugs a big- multiverse, what can you do? "It's 2009 where I'm from."

[slaveprince]

Val nods. "It's 2009 in my homeworld, too, But I'm living in Arista now. I think it's somewhere in the 500s there, but I'm not entirely sure. And I was born over 500 years before the switch." Meaning BC/AD.

"Arista? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that.. city?" He smiles a bit. "I'm from California. Langley Heights, if you know it."

[slaveprince]

"Arista is an island nation in the Mediterranian. I think it might be unique to their world. I have heard of California, but I'm afraid I don't know much about it, outside the movies. I've spent most of my life in Europe."

[thegreat1ncewas]

"Europe's beautiful," he says warmly. "I've traveled there often." Robbing museums, staging heists, picking fights, that sort of thing. Great continent for that, Europe. "I haven't heard of Arista, but I've been to Greece and Italy many times."

[slaveprince]

Val nods. "Similar cultures. As is my original one, which is why Arista feels so much like Home to me. You probably know this, but you can travel to the most beautiful, exotic locations available, but nothing ever seems quite so wonderful as Home when you've been gone for a while."

He nods, and if he were any other type of person, he'd be wistful. "Coming back to my apartment after a week or more away on a job is wonderful. Of course, having someone to come home to.." He gives J one of those Looks. You know, the 'later I'm going to rip all your clothes off' kind of Looks.
