This time there’s no portal. Cronus simply appears near the sign, and takes the nearest convenient armchair to lounge in. For a minute or so he simply regards the Nexus with an air of strained patience

"Finding out that my parents were part of a conspiracy to destroy the world."

"I don't suppose you decided to join them?"

[hellisforkids]

"Oh, I did. They just didn't know until I betrayed the group who were trying to stop them."

[adamant_sickle]

Now isn't that a change? "What commendable loyalty," he says sincerely. "No doubt your one-time friends weren't so pleased, but family comes first."

He says it so cheerfully, so confidently, you'd think he actually believed it.

"Actually, I now realize what a horrible choice I made. It stuck me in a white void for almost a decade."

[adamant_sickle]

"Surely you don't regret helping your beloved parents?"

[hellisforkids]

Alex sighs. "Yes. As it turns out, my parents were horrible people."

[adamant_sickle]

He's about to answer, and pauses. "Apart from conspiring to destroy the world and all on board?"

Because that's usually the sticking point in his experience.

[hellisforkids]

"No, the world deserves it. It's just they tried to kill their children."

[adamant_sickle]

"Oh, I see." He rests his chin on one hand and sighs. "It's so sad when families fall apart."
