Either way, there's an Adam in the Nexus. He's doubled over, pale, shaking. His arms clutch his stomach, his head, and he stumbles to a couch to collapse onto it.

Perhaps the lights in the Nexus are on the fritz, because there's - shadows, it must be, flickering over Adam's

"Yeah?" Adam raises his head, watching with a soft expression that's almost betrayed by the intensity in his eyes. He needs more details. "Celebrating? Or just a nice date?"

Adam chuckles at the memory, like he's already sharing it. "I understand the feeling." He gestures (with his non-flickering hand - er, not that either of them are flickering) for Jacob to take a seat on the couch as well. "What's your girl like?"

Adam stretches to get closer for no particular reason. "Yeah? She sounds nice." He eyes Jacob with a smile. "You sound pretty nice, too. A nice boyfriend, that is."

Sorry, you're not his type. He just wants you a bit closer.

Adam laughs. "No, god, no. Just giving you a compliment."

Adam raises an eyebrow. "Well, you don't have anything to worry about from me." ...that's a lie, technically.

Adam can sense the distrust, knows he might be winning a losing battle. "Sorry if I've offended you."

"Alright, alright!" Adam laughs and holds up his hands. I'm unarmed, I'm defeated, you win. He extends a hand with a smile. "No hard feelings?"

Adam finds that memory in the cafe, smoothly places himself there, chatting with the couple and complimenting them both. He transplants his and Jacob's conversation into the memory and erases Jacob's memory of having it in the Nexus. Not as big a change as he'd like, but beggars can't be choosers.
