It should be noted that Phoenix is definitely staying well in the confines of the AVF as he asks this. He's beginning to feel that the AVF is pretty much the only thing keeping him from being eviscerated from any number of things pissed off at him for one thing or another. So here's a question: Has the Nexus brought you more stress in your life, ( Read more... )

"My feelings are much the same, Mr. Wright," says Reilly Tyne, whose nose had been buried in a book. "The Nexus has certainly brought me more stress. I've been in situations I could never imagine. Cost me people I loved. Yet, I... I've gained a lot. Friends. Family. I'm honestly not sure, some days, whether I'd prefer to stay or have never found the place at all."

He puts the book down and looks at Phoenix again. "You're acting sort of odd. Something wrong?"

Yeah. Well, I wouldn't have even stayed if the Nexus hadn't more or less forced me to. Still can't decide if I'm thankful or not.

Just kinda stressed out lately. Between Grey hanging around the Nexus, and I think Dracula's up to something lately, and all that stuff, I've been a little run ragged mentally.

"Dracula? Grey? Are you safe?" Reilly frowns. "Don't run yourself too ragged, Mr. Wright."

Well, Grey's the main reason I'm currently sticking to AVF territories. Dracula... I don't know. I'm not really his main target.

Ahahahaha. Easier said than done.

"Of course it's easier said than done." Reilly rolls his eyes. "Still, though."

Then he strokes his chin, thinking. "I don't know if there's much I can do about Grey, but Dracula... are vampires vulnerable to fire? I've never had to fight one before, but if you need help-"

Um, maybe? Soma would know better than I would. Hell, he'd probably welcome the help with open arms. I'm, er, not really the vampire-hunting type.

"Oh right, I suppose you really wouldn't want to hunt him down. I'll ask Soma about it next time I see him, though."

You do that. The poor guy's probably stressed out as is, so some support would be good for him.

"Is Dracula after Some too?"

Oh, Reilly. Reilly. There is so much you don't know.

...er, I don't think Dracula gives a rat's ass about Some one way or the other, honestly.

"I think I misunderstood," Reilly admits sheepishly. "Different question, then. Why is Soma so stressed?"

He's... well, he's had sort of an odd issue lately. I'm not sure I should go into it without him being here, but it's made things kind of complicated for him.

"No, it's fine. I wouldn't ask you to spill someone's personal problems. I was just curious."

Maybe a little concerned, too.

If you want, you can talk to him sometime. If he's up to it, he'll probably tell you himself.
