There are large suits of armor in the Nexus.

They are not giant mecha, but they are pretty big (ranging from 8 feet to 9 feet tall), and they are not SPARTANs. They move in packs of five or so, occasionally leaping via jets of flame released from their legs, but mostly walking or running. And they appear to be fairly heavily armed. None of them ( Read more... )

"My life. I think I'd be able to regain my honor as long as I survive." She watches them thoughtfully, as she's perched on top of a Convenient Crumbling Wall, wings half-spread for balance.

"You think dishonor is something easily washed away?" Okay, those are wings. Those do not belong on people. Yes, they've been briefed on what to expect, but still. The body language of the squad suggests caution and heightened alarm, which means that their guns are ready to fire on her just in case.

Hopefully they're not twitchy.

Wings or no, the body language isn't offensive or defensive, even if she's watching them move--it might be out of curiosity more than anything else. There's a good fair chance it might not be either. Said wings are massive, apparently made to support her body weight in the air--and that's to say nothing about her cybernetics, the arms, among other things.

And to her? They look twitchy. She shrugs, "I don't really know." She says, "I always thought it was one of those situational things that could vary."

Unknown to them, however, she's called up her PINpoint information in her HUD, ready to vanish should they get any twitchier. Those weapons make her vaguely nervous, AVF or not.

"That says something about your nature." Oh, they've already seen the cybernetics, and the cybernetics are a Not Good Thing, because the kind of people who do that are the kind of people who are religious fanatics for a society that controls quite a bit of the universe's communications systems and like to do things like "drop nuclear weapons on planets and completely glass them".

The Word of Blake are a bunch of right bastards, but that's neither here nor there; what does matter is that they like cybernetics, and so does Ara.

"And what it says is not good." No, they're not firing, but they clearly do not approve of her.

"Well, s'a good thing I don't really mind what some folks think of me." Another shrug, wings resettling a bit. She shifts her weight a little. It probably says something when she thinks that many guns is a bit overkill.

The silence is slightly awkward for a moment, "Anyway, I've got somewhere I need to be, so I guess I'll see you folks around." A wave, and she drops behind the wall, to PINpoint away.

And start work on building Something.

Oooohboy.
