There's a boy. He looks a little like someone else that frequents the Nexus on occasion, less a couple years and a few packs of disposable razors.

Robert Baldwin grins cheerfully as he throws himself into a cushy chair, pulling long blond hair out of his eyes.

"So what's this I hear about time going all screwy?"

That voice is kind of familiar. Possibly from that time that the New Warriors and GenX ended up fighting each other, then fighting together. Or it could be that he recognizes it from the guy with the spikes.

Either way, Jono tilts his head slightly. 'S the Nexus, mate. This sorta stuff happens all the time.

There's a passing resemblance to both. And of course, after Stamford Robbie's face and name were plastered everywhere.

"Yeah? I'd gotten the impression that this was sort of different from the usual, but what does the newbie know?"

Nexus floodin' with time? Yeah, 'at's new. Stuff what fucks people up royally? He shrugs. At least nothing happened to him. Like the blue clown lips of DOOOOOM. *cough*

"Yeah? No rhyme or reason to it? No way to stop it?"

Don' eat the food an' don' drink anythin', basically. Other 'an that, make friends with yer local deity. Not that Jono thinks the reason this hasn't touched him is because he's sort of friends with Hermes, but it certainly won't hurt to drop some wine on the altar there, either.

"Huh. Like Thor?" I SAY THEE NAY. THERE SHALT BE NO GENDERSWAPPING OF YON MANCHILD THIS DAY. "What happens if you do?"

Seen a Thor 'round here, yeah. Suppose he'd help. Not that Jono'd want to have much of anything to do with Thor. Since he's dead or cloned or...well, whatever it was Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic had done there.

The question gets a shrug. Mostly you jus' wait it out. They don' last too long.

"Dude. Pretend it's my first day here, cause it is. Tiny words, if you need to. What doesn't last too long?"

Jono shook his head. Sorry. LOLs is what people tend to call 'em 'round here. They tend to do things to...change you. Sometimes physically, sometimes jus' mentally. He waved his hand to the Nexus at large. Like this. Sometimes for only a day or so, sometimes longer. Rarely permanent, though.

"Science? Magic? Someone's mutant power? Don't suppose there's a prochure, a beginner's guide to this place?"

Nexus. Really. That's the actual reason. Probably closest is 'magic', but it ain't magic like you'd recognize. The place jus' does stuff to food an' such. Dunno 'bout any brochures, though. Somebody really should make one, though.

"So, what, all the food does that stuff? I saw some restaurants over that way." He jabs a thumb in that general direction. "If I went and ordered a burger from one of them, I'd turn into a cat or something?"

Jono shakes his head, then shrugs. Don' think all of it does. Jus' be careful of the stuff what's given out fer free, y'know? His eyes take on a wry expression. I ain't 'sactly had a lot of first hand experience with the food 'round here.

"No free lunch. Dad would approve." A crooked grin, sort of apologetic. "Mixed blessings. Thanks for the warnings, man."
