Yes, that's a transparent plot device Forrest Gump sitting in the Nexus with a box of chocolates, waiting for a bus.

Why don't you sit down, tell him a story and he'll trade you a chocolate for it?

(( Of course, being an obvious plot device, you don't have to actually tell a story or any of that crap.))

Forrest gets some company in the form of one of the new people in the Nexus. It's a tall fellow with a neatly trimmed beard and curly red hair.

As he sits down and rubs his eyes, it doesn't seem like he's after a conversation. From the looks of him, he's more after a break than anything else.

But then he looks at the man next to him. "Holy shit, that's Forrest Gump. Seems it's true; the Nexus do get everyone."

"Hey."

"Hello." :D "Are you waiting for the bus too?"

"The buss?" He looks around. The Nexus has busses? "No, I'm just resting my legs a bit. Didn't know this place had busses."

Forrest looks up at the sign and then back to Ford. "The sign says the bus is coming, so I'll wait and it'll come."

"Would you like a chocolate?"

"Sure, why not?" He takes a chocolate from the box, but doesn't eat it straight away. "Where are you going?"

"On the bus, to see Jenni." :D

This is the best thing ever.

He smiles, but that smile fades when he sees the crazy bitch that is Luci on Forrest's other side.

"I'd like to stay and talk, but I've got to go. But thanks for the chocolate."

He pops the cholotale in his mouth and goes off the way he came, unknowing that he's about to be subjected to his first ever LOL.

"Ford, what a surprise!" Oh, why look who it is! That one gal! You know 'er.

He stops. "Oh God, why me?" Then he starts walking again, faster this time. He's starting to feel a bit strange, but doesn't connect it to that raspberry chocolate.

Now, you should know you can't get away like that! "Come on, where are you off in a hurry to?" She's by his side now.

"Away from you. Piss off." Very blunt, but he's really feeling weird here. Just wants to get away from her.

"Nah, I want to play with you," she purrs. "Don't be so mean."

[killer_saver]

"Don't be mean?" That makes him laugh. "Look who's talking."

[snakebiteluci]

"I'm not mean. Petty, maybe. Spiteful, sure. But mean?" She stops, licking the remnants of her chocolate off of her fingers. "I'm not."

Out of the corner of his eye, Ford watches her lick the chocolate of her fingers. Then with a growl - mostly at his own stupidity - he sharply turns around the corner of a building and goes away from this area of the Nexus, hoping against all hope that she won't follow him.
