"Most costume places sell them or have them for rent," Jeff says. "Though this close to Christmas, you're probably going to have a hard time finding something." Jeff sits down next to Hanatarou and smiles. "How have you been?"

"A costume place," he frowns. "That makes sense. Is that where you got yours?"

Hanatarou also smiles! :D "Very well, thank you! I'm a little worried about being able to get everything done for Christmas in time, but I'm looking forward to it. What about you?"

He laughs. "Oh, I don't have one. Not much occasion for me to play Santa. Plus I'm a terrible actor."

He nods. "I know the feeling. Christmas just has this way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it, somehow. And I'm doing well! Well...aside from getting LOLed again somehow." He shakes his head and sighs, though the smile stays. "I don't know how they keep finding me."

"... You don't have one at all? What are you going to wear on Christmas?" ·A·

"A-again?!" (oops, that was a little too incredulous) "I hope it wasn't anything bad!!" oAo

Isamu drops in OUT OF FUCKIN' NOWHERE and drags Jeff off to one side.

"SSSSHHHH don't tell him don't tell him! I want to see if he shows up wearing a Santa skirt."

UNEXPECTED

Jeff yelps as he's dragged away, and frowns. He definitely doesn't approve of this plan. "Isamu, no. I'm not going to embarrass him," he says firmly.

"He's only going to be embarrassed if people tell him it's wrong. And he'll have fun dressing up. Don't you want him to have some Christmas fun? What kind of jerk are you?"

"There's nothing wrong with dressing up for fun!" Jeff protests. "He's going to wonder why everyone isn't dressed up, and someone--not necessarily me--will tell him, and he'll feel bad for getting it wrong. And I'm the kind of jerk who's not terribly fond of practical jokes." B|

"Bah. He'll know it was me. It's not like he'll get mad at anyone else, you know." >_

Jeff pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. "That's not the point. Look, find another way to get your jollies besides someone else's expense, all right? I'm not playing." And with that, he turns on his heel and walks back towards Hanatarou.

Jeff returns from his little talk with Isamu looking slightly annoyed. "Sorry, what were we...oh yes! I'm just wearing my my good suit, that's all," he says, looking a bit confused. "My cousin Ronald is usually the one who plays Santa in our family. He's got the beard and the um...you know...shape for it. And he's great with the kids." He grins. "I think more than one Santa would just confuse them."

He winces and pinches the bridge of his nose, blushing deeply. "Yeah. Again. ...I think."

"Oh, well, yes," Hanatarou acknowledges with an understanding nod. Obviously only one person can actually be Santa (if the children aren't yet familiar with the concept of multiple universes, at least).

"You... think?" D8 "What happened?... I mean, obviously you aren't sure what happened, but like... what happened to make you think you weren't sure what had happened?"

Jeff glances in Isamu's direction. "And um...you don't have to dress up as Santa, it's not a tradition or anything. Sometimes people do for fun though. Santa hats are pretty common. And they're still pretty easy to find just about anywhere."

He sighs. "I don't remember anything that happened in the last five days or so. I'm all right, and...well..." He blushes again. "Whatever happened made Bun very happy. She was very talkative when I got back. So...I'm assuming it was nothing bad."

Hanatarou notes the Isamu-ward glance with puzzlement. "No? ... Are you sure?" (Ooh, that Isamu! he must've told Jeff to say this because he's trying to trick Hanatarou into not wearing a Santa suit on Christmas.) (... actually, is there something wrong with that scenario?)

"Hmmm. Does anyone around the Nexus remember you being around? ... Or maybe you could get Bun to draw a picture of what happened... or something like that."

Jeff nods. "Mm hm, positive. You can if you want to, of course, it's just not required, that's all. At least not where I'm from. Mostly we just wear something nice, that's all."

"Huh. I don't know. I could ask around, I suppose. Oh, maybe I could get Bun to draw something! It's worth a shot."
