Amelia has yet to actually ask a question, and there would be no point to her answering this one, but she's hovering nearby nonetheless. Or, more accurately, she's fidgeting against a post and failing at being inconspicuous.

Someone has something on her mind, with no damnable idea of how to say it.

"You are about as subtle as a Blood Asp crashing through a forest," Caleb says simply, peering over at Amelia. So far he's putting up a good guise of avoiding the 'oh my shit, AWKWARD' that has been pervading his apartment ever since he's had to deal with both Amelia and Selene.

"That is not particularly subtle," Amelia says, before her brain catches on to the part where she was trying to be less conspicuous and clamps down on her mouth. She sighs, and comes over to where Caleb sprawls. Getting down on her knees, she leans up against the back of the couch and props her arms and head up on it. "But then, if I were really trying to be subtle, I would have been, I suppose. I ..." She pauses. This situation perplexes her so very much, Caleb, and keeps screwing up her usual instincts in ways instincts weren't meant to be screwed up. "I sent my first full report back today. It seemed an appropriate day to do so."

While she's talking, Caleb's trying to figure out the best way to respond - and then she hits him with the "report" bit. Caleb stares. "...what did you send," he says, in a rather cold tone - if she advocates invasion, no matter what relationship might be between them...

Amelia is hardly a simpering, easily mortified girl, so she doesn't flinch at the hard tone of her sibkin's voice; she does, however, crinkle her eyes in open hurt. She never meant for this to drive such a divide between them, nor that it could be such a difficult divide to bridge. "I did not tell them no," she says, as carefully as she can manage. There is no way Caleb won't react defensively to that, but she can soften the blow a little if she can get her next words out beforehand. "But I did tell them this ( ... )

Caleb continues to stare at her for quite some time, obviously deep in thought - while she has gone against his wishes, he knows he hardly has any control over her, if at all, and she is free to make her own opinions. However, he's made it abundantly clear how he feels about a possible invasion.

"... that is true, yes, and I do not know if we will ever be *certain* on who created the clones. It may have just been a 'LOL', so to speak, in which case... well." He pauses, and then frowns. It's a birthday present, yes, but not exactly what he wanted to hear.

"If it is so dangerous to the Clan, I will not report otherwise," Amelia says, without meeting his eyes. She knows how he feels, but that won't change how she feels. She is asking - no, practically begging - for him to prove it to her, prove that the invasion is as unwise as he says it is. "And whether it is a 'LOL' or otherwise ... if it is a 'LOL' and unpredictable, that will still have to be taken into consideration." She swallows.

This may be the hardest sentence she has ever uttered. "I want you to be right." She tenses, not in preparation for anything, just tension, digging into her back and making a hard nest of her muscles. "But it is not about what either of us wants. It is about what is the right choice to make, and I cannot tell them no, not yet. It would not be - honorable, to make such a decision."

The first time Amelia fell, Caleb helped her up. The second time, she pulled herself to her feet first. After that she helped the rest.

A sigh escapes his lips, and he sits up on the couch, staring down at the ground. "You know I am right. You just do not want to admit it." Part of that is wishful thinking, but part of him think she really might be beginning to see just how awful of an idea it is.

"It is not about honor in this case, Amelia. It is about *common sense*. You have seen things here already that would not be possible other places. You have seen Selene's magics. And those are merely the tip of the iceberg," he says, shaking his head.
