"Welcome to my space station, Moonbeam." Lyla doesn't really care whether he's male or female. She's groovy like that. "I'm mostly convinced that Yuval has an alien living in his brain that makes him a musical genius, because the rest of him is goddamned retarded."

"Well, my mate Howard is pretty smart," says Vince, pushing up his sunglasses. "But lately, he's been acting a bit paranoid and dreamy. Sometimes at the same time!"

"Maybe he's in looooooooooove." When she says 'love', she twiddles her fingers at him in an 'ooo spooky' gesture.

"Love? Oh god, not this shit again. He has the worst luck with women." This was true. Howard had been constantly rejected by Ms. Gideon when they worked at the Zoo. "It's not going to end well..."

"The only thing not right here is you, sir," Howard replies, peering over the top of his book to glare at his flat mate. "There's nothing wrong with me. Except for the whole, I dunno, being incredibly annoyed at my mate's lock-picking and journal-reading sort of betrayal."

"No one told me anything," he lies through his teeth, shutting his book with a loud sound and tossing it next to him. "I found bobby pins in my room again." Okay, he isn't lying about that.

"Well, it took you an awfully long time to notice. I haven't done it in months," snaps Vince. "And ask Naboo and Bollo. I never told them anything that I read in those."

"I had a boyfriend like that once," Phoenix chimes in, laughing a bit. "I thought we were cool and everything, but this other girl kept on trying to come onto him, right? Bothering him and telling him stupid things about me that weren't true..." She sighs, curling up in her armchair to get more comfortable before speaking again. "Long story short? The idiot left me for her and something tells me he's been regretting that decision ever since he made it. Serves him right, though." She grins, leaning back in her seat. "What's the matter with your friend, then? Is someone telling him crap that he's stupid enough to fall for?"

"I think so," says Vince sadly. "I mean, I don't know who it is or what they told him, but I think someone is putting thoughts in his head."

"Are you sure you don't know who it is? For all you know, he could be with her right now."

"Well, no," says Vince, starting to think. "There was one woman he was trying to impress a few days ago though. I didn't get her name, but she was a red head in red. Her eyes may have been red as well, I couldn't really tell. But she didn't seem interested in Howard..."
