"So okay," says Anna thoughtfully.

She's tossing and catching a lump of rock in one hand. It has green sparkly bits.

When she catches it, it glows and makes unpleasant noises. So, to a limited extent, does her hand.

"What would you do if you suddenly got a great big dose of superpowers? Also, what's the weirdest LOL that ever hit you?"

Sarah's eyes follow the lump of rock. "Pretty..." she says, to herself. It takes her a little while to look at Anna instead, and when she does, her eyes are rather unfocused. "Um... that'd be rather nice, actually. I'd try to help people... depends on the power, I guess."

She perks up a little at the mention of LOLs. "Oh! Oh! I got turned into a swan princess. That was really cool." There's a cupcake wrapper near where she's sitting. Maybe drunk cupcake LOL isn't weird enough for her?

"Swan princess? That's pretty neat."

Anna catches the rock and taps it against her leg a few times, thoughtfully, before starting to toss and catch it again.

"And yeah, I'd think so too, but - honestly I'm just finding them a burden more than anything else."

[sarah_branigan]

"It was!" Sarah confirms, nodding her head enthusiastically. "I could fly, and I could still talk. Believe me, it's a pain in the keister when you're LOLed as an animal and you can't say boo." She starts giggling. "I turned back into a human in the bath, too... that was pretty funny."

She sobers up a little (well, relatively. She's doing a lot of swaying on the couch). "A burden? What's your new powers?"

"Everything but the fucking kitchen sink, seems like. Strength, speed, setting things on fire with my mind - the works. I think I can actually levitate, too, which is exhilarating in a slightly scary way."

Sarah stares, open-mouthed. "That's incredible!" she says, finally. "Why on earth would that be a burden? And you could totally use those things to help people... well, maybe not the setting things on fire, but you could help people trapped in auto accidents, or earthquake victims, or fighting off bad guys... um, you could deliver stuff really fast, too. You know, they always say something is overnight delivery, but it never gets to me on time. Or they ring the doorbell and take off before I can answer and leave that stupid 'we missed you' note on the door. God, I hate that."

"It's a burden because I found out about the pyrokinesis by torching my shower curtain," she says ruefully. It's not strictly correct, but close enough. "And I've had to confine myself to a walk since I got them because I don't quite have the speed thing down yet and I sometimes end up going a lot faster than I intend to. Not to mention I'm afraid to touch people or valuable objects in case I break them."

Let's not mention what happened to the door of her apartment. She'll fix the knob. Somehow.

"Ohhhh." Sarah nods. "I understand. Well, hmm. Maybe you oughta talk to someone who has those powers and they can tell you how to control them better until the LOL wears off?" She looks around. "There's, like, a million people around here who probably have those powers."

"Don't worry. I've got a resource in that department."

Anna smiles fondly.

[sarah_branigan]

"Oh, good!" Sarah beams before slumping back in her seat a little. "I know it's causing some problems for you, but I think I'd like to be LOLed with superpowers." She rubs her nose. "Haven't been hit with any LOL for a while, though. So that's good."

"Nah, trust me. More trouble than they're worth."

She's really never been the power-hungry type.
