Mom said I'd go when I was ready, but I didn't think that'd be today--" he's rambling, he knows. So he stops doing that

Eiji blinks in confusion, then shrugs it off. "Why're they weird?"

"Well, yeah. It's hard to call someone if they don't have a name, since 'hey, you!' starts getting annoying after a while."

"Not all that important usually, but my parents named me Peter Parker Reilly, which caused me a bit of trouble in school."

Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that my family is crazy. Kaa is very sane and reasonable, I think.

Ummm... they're somewhat important, I suppose. It depends on the situation and context as to how important.

"That's pretty unusual here, right? Um, Kaa is your only family member?"

"I guess so. What's a situation when they're really important?"

Yes, he is. Well, the only one that I know of. I mean, there are certainly other people out there who are related to me, but I don't know who or where they might be, so... um, yes. :D()
I did have a family in an alternate reality once. ... They might have been a little bit crazy. *frown*

Well, for example, soul reapers have to know the names of our soul-cutting swords before we can use their full powers. And... um.

"Names are very important where I come from from. My people put great value in being known and recognized and people often acquire nicknames to set them apart from others with the same or similar given names."

He nods. "A name makes you your own person, right?"

"Oh! Well, crazy doesn't have to be negative, per se. What are your family members like?"

"So you can go ahead and call someone something else? No consequences?"

He smiles brightly. "Well, it sounds like it's busy, at least. But that can be a good thing, of course!"

"Well, where I come from, at least, if you don't have a name of your own, you're vulnerable to outside influences. You're not..your own, if that makes sense?"
