"It's so good to see so many different beings living together in harmony with the intent to gain knowledge from one another in such a caring and wistful manner. It's the very reason I've carefully duplicated a Batcave for my Zoo in the Fortress of Solitude --

Superman looks to be concentrating so hard on the advice he might as well be lasering it directly into his brain.

For all we know, he is. "The pillow is a wonderful idea. Perhaps laced with chloroform to help him sleep better?"

"Sounds like a perfect idea. Can you manage stormy, dramatically-rainy weather? Batpeople like those too."

"The Fortress can simulate any conditions that might make my most treasured of companions feel at home." Clark hums, smile stretching his lips wide. "I had considered giving Bruce's outside environment the look of from a city highrise. I'll lavish it with gargoyles worthy of his perching and shadows that can be penetrated only by myself."

"A Batman blow up doll and a klondike bar."

*Superman looks Lex over carefully, long and thorough. Like he's taking in all the little differences and similarities, analysing his heartbeat and listening to each breath.* One that I can lovingly fill up with my breath, just for him, yes. I like that idea. *He smiles tightly* It's so seldom that you have likeable ideas, Lex. I shall treasure this one.

Lex just sort of stares at him for a moment. "I'm... glad of that, Superman. Good luck on your endeavors."

Superman sighs, wistfully, tilting his head at Lex. "Thank you for the sentiment Lex, however insincere it truly is. I would wish you luck with yours as well, but..." he trails off, sadly, eyes intense with muted emotion.

"The WHAT?!?!?"

Guillame taps him on the shoulder. "Nightwing....this is...'Superman'?" There's something of an implied 'my Clark doesn't cage people' there.

"I, I don't know."

But then, Superfreak is talking to Dick, and touching him. And AUGH.

Dick PINpoints away, perhaps to try to puke 'till his pixie boots come up.

Clark? Stares.

That's all he's got.

Dick hisses a tight whisper to Clark- that one, not the freaking KIDNAPPER CRAZY GUY- "Caaaaall. the Poleeeeeece."

Superman smile brightly, eyes zeroing in on Dick with an intensity that might very well indicate he's listening to each pump of the other man's heart and watching the blood move through his veins. "I love that band. It's thoughtful of your to think of them just for my appearance, Nightwing."

"Pleasegoaway."

Guillame blinks. Because when you're only just getting used to alternates, and happen to worship the ground one Clark Kent walks on, and also happen to be a telepath, moemnts like these tend to be confusing and unpleasant.

So he just ends up looking away a little, and hopoing for clarification.

"A...zoo? How many people are you putting in a...zoo?"

"Only the rarest instances of intelligent life may grace my Fortress." Superman's face is grave. "The last of their kind or the best examples of their species. You understand of course, why I must allow Batman and his Robins the joy that comes from being under my constant supervision and care."

Guillame's messed up enough that the 'joy' of constantly being with a Clark doesn't actually sound like a problem, but the idea of cages -- not to mention the vague telepathic buzz -- certainly does.

"They....seem to be fine people, certainly, sir. But they are human, so they are not the last of their kind. ...Are they?"

Clark gives this obviously astray devotee a sad smile. "They are so above and beyond their own ilk as to be a species of their own. I wish only to insure that they continue on where I might watch them develop."
