Danny walks through one of the portals. He wasn't expecting to get here, but shows no surprise, as there is none. This is the third time in three days that he's found himself here. He'd met Tess on one occasion, paid a visit to the bank, and now this ( Read more... )

"You know you should be careful saying stuff like that around here. Someone'll take you seriously." Ginger replied, obviously amused as she smirked at the man, casually lighting a cigarette.

"You mean the bit about delivering flowers?" Danny smirked, the playfulness coming naturally when confronted by a beautiful woman.

"Exactly." She grinned. "And you look nothing like a florist delivery boy, you're not fooling anyone you know."

Danny looked up with his eyes, though his head barely moved.

"I just said I was delivering them. I didn't say I did it for a living."

Danny looked at that smile and imagined that it had fooled a few high-rollers in it's time.

"It was a joke. It's more likely than you robbing a few casinos though, I never met anyone that successfully ripped off a casino after announcing it publically first."

Ginger smiled wryly, something about him amused her, and she was intrigued.

Danny had to smile, it was in-built.

"Okay, that bit was a joke. If I was going to rob a casino, I'd have to be mad to mention it first, you're right. Even if I didn't say which casino and when."

Danny looked for a bar. He needed a drink. If he was stopping for a while, he may aswell be comfortable. Having nothing to do with his hands made him less so.

"You'll forgive the cliche, but have we met before?"

"Well you'd have to be." Ginger said, a glint of amusement in her eye. "Most guys that run casinos have ears and eyes everywhere."

Ginger already had a martini in her hand, the bar wasn't far obviously. "I don't think we have. Ginger. Ginger Rothstein." She smiled pleasantly, offering a hand.

"Walk with me," Danny said, leading Ginger by one arm, unencumbered by lillies, in the direction of the bar he'd just spotted.

"I don't even know your name." She glanced sideways at him with an amused curious smile, as they apparently made their way to the bar.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm Danny. Danny Ocean."

Now they reached the bar, Danny ordered a bourbon.

Ginger nodded to the bartender, indicating that her glass was nearly empty, holding it up to him.

"Well it's a pleasure Danny. So what else do you do? Apart from robbing casinos and casing banks obviously."

"I deliver flowers." Danny smiled at Ginger, pulling a 'look at me, what a dork' face, dumping the flowers unceremoniously on the bar. "Wait a while before you decide if it's a pleasure or not."

Self-deprecation always worked with the well-heeled, sophisticated type, he'd found.

"And I'm a nun." Ginger smirked. "So who's the lucky lady?" She asked, giving the flowers a quick look as they waited for their drinks.

"I was in the way to visit my wife, well, ex-wife. I think she needed cheering up."

Danny sipped at his drink.

"So it's Sister Ginger then?"

"And flowers from her ex will do that?" Ginger smiled gratefully at the bartender as he handed her a fresh martini, fully expecting Danny to foot the bill, making no offer of payment herself.

She twirled the cocktail stick in her drink playfully, before biting off the olive with a grin as her teeth pulled it off. "That's right, Mr. Interflora."

Danny nodded at the bartender, who smiled back at him, when the drinks arrived.

"They might. Then again, maybe they won't." It was Danny's turn to nod to the flowers. "Do you like them? Did I make a good choice, do you think?"
