I don't know if the movie exists on your 'verse, Spidey. But in Ghostbusters 2...there's this evil guy called Viggo the Carpathian. In my world, it was just a movie. But on Ray's world, the Carpathian was real. And he'd assured his immortality and powerbase by creating a bunch of paintings he could access from the beyond to any other painting in the Multiverse. And from there, he could possess people like Ray, or draw on negative emotional energy to increase his power so he could go ghost, and then take on physical form to steal a body from which to rule the world.
