A guy shows up through a portal. He looks a little too young to be called a man, but too old to be called a boy. He's pretty ordinary-looking, but "ordinary-looking" is a difficult thing to judge in a place like the Nexus.

After arriving, he takes a moment to figure out where he is--the sign helps plenty--and stops to think for a bit. Then, he starts talking.

"Okay, I've got a question. In my home... universe... thing, there's a lot of popular science-fiction dealing with robots. Mainly, robots with fully-functioning AI comparable to a human's. Only, they lack any sense of figurative speech. I don't think anyone has ever thought this over, and I don't mean the whole 'human brain being so complex that people have studied it for forever and still don't know what makes it tick' thing. I mean, any large company involved in designing and constructing robots that have such complex designs, like a fully-functioning human AI and mastery of a language as mangled and backwards as English, would at least attempt to cover the entire spectrum, and include simile, metaphor, idiom, and at least a basic understanding of body language based on muscle movements."

He takes a deep breath and sighs. "Am I right, or am I right?"

((However, I'm off to bed. Will respond to all in the morning!))
