March Cosplay Challenge Update and Other Stuff Omnibus
After I re-planned my challenge, I realized that some of my Shakky cosplay is still in GA. It's okay though, I've shifted my plans (yet again) and have started working on my props.
Made Youko's wrist armor out of craft foam and am still working on the craft foam shoulder armor for Suzu. I found that I purchased a wooden sword a while back and am going to try to alter it to make Suzu's sword. I guess I'll have to use the electric sander to form it.
Craft foam covered in 5-6 layers of ModPodge.
Craft foam sanded, smoothed, 'painted' with Spanish Copper Rub 'n Buff and sealed with Pledge Tile and Vinyl Floor Finish.
White furniture vinyl buffed with brown shoe polish and sealed with Pledge. Steps repeated twice.
Failed with Melissa Tiss' arm armor. Ug, the cracking of the mod Podge... TT_TT I'm thinking of covering it with spandex...maybe I could remake them out of sintra. Or Leather!
I recently made contact with a sign shop in my area and can expect scrap sintra from time to time. I plan on making Melissa's sword out of the first batch I receive.
I also finished an interesting lolita inspired design. Not too sure how I feel about it. I had imagined it a little different, but it was made as a test piece for a future design.

Spent some of the weekend dipping pieces of my Suzu cosplay into a black tea dye bath to make it look 'worn'.
Styled two wigs; flattened Melissa's wig and curled Princess Zoro's wig.
Forgot about another prop that I need to make; hopefully by Zenkai. Suzu's 'chop' that she carries around. It's Saiou's royal seal.
I recently realized that I need to go back to my Strong World Nico Robin and add fray block to all the 'feathered' edges. I had lined it all with black iron-on interfacing...but the interfacing sucked SO BAD. It all fell off and now it's fraying badly.
I can expect Megan to come visit me from NY next weekend! She'll be making her Tanpei cosplay from Time Bokan! I'll most likely take a break from whatever I'm working on to start Junko so we can both be working on the same series together. <3
