Dear Gnomes,
I've always been very happy with my guild. We've been very lucky, my fiancee and I, when we recruited new people into what used to be a very, very small, tight knit group of real life friends and family (my brother is the one who got me into playing WoW in the first place) that eventually dwindled down to just myself, one of my best in game friends, and my fiancee, the new recruits fit right in and have simply made it a larger, tight knit family. However...
On Sunday night we were doing our weekly run of MSV (we're only 2/6 so far, very late start) and as usual, our Shaman healer was doing less that spectacular (the week before my mage outhealed him with her Rune of Power, and the week before that when I filled in as heals on my priest, we actually cleared the second boss for the first time, go figure). Tempers were starting to flare because he was joking around about being logged into Elder Scrolls Online Beta and playing both games at the same time, while barely doing half the healing our druid healer was AND 48% of that being pure OVERHEALING, words were exchanged and he suddenly logged out of the game and out of Vent, so we called it for the night. Now, myself (I'm Guild Master/Raid Leader) and one of our tanks (who the Shaman knows in real life) were going to sit him down and talk about his performance and gear, and we figured this would be the perfect jumping off point, but...I got home yesterday to find that said tank and one of my DPS had actually left the guild on their alts and started their own guild "to get away from and ". Ok, fine, I get it, people can have their own guild, bank guild, gold making guild, whatever, but here's the thing...EVERYONE in Mythos (my guild) is sick of these two Shaman's attitudes, we've had to call the DPS Shaman out on very gross, sexist remarks several times in the past few weeks, the healy Shaman just isn't putting in the effort and aside from raiding with us, they don't bother even trying to interact with the rest of the guild. Why, if it was really THAT bad, would these two guild members (and close friends of mine in game and IRL through text, facebook, etc!) not just come to me and say hey, can we do something about them? Or at least give myself or my senior officer (fiancee) some warning before pulling toons out of the guild we've ALL worked so hard to build? I would have happily sat down and talked this over with the rest of the guild AND the two Shaman in question, but instead these two just POOF! and run off to spend all their time on their main alts in another guild that none of the rest of us are invited to. Hurts. Now I'm left with the two Shaman, still wanting to kick them, but the stinging uncertainty that I won't just lose the rest of my guild to this NEW guild and get left behind again. It just sucks. A lot.
Pulling my hair out!
