I would like to reiterate an old thread from last year that I posted on the same date. Cole... wherever you are, fare-thee-well, my dark prince.
Happy Birthday Cole - pour toute éternité .... this is for you
Gather around kiddies, it’s story time. This is a gothic tragedy about the love that cannot exist between darkness and light...... (based on a true story)
*~*~*~*~*~*~*A Gothic Romance*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Far away and long ago, lieth a story never told. True love in all it's mysteries, buried deep inside the castle by the sea".....
Act I: Summer dying fast
As the bright glimpse of summer fades beyond the trees, the golden wings of Autumn fall over the land. The dark prince sits, his thoughts heavy with time as he sips the sacred nectar of times past. The masquerade of the evening only deepens his sorrow as he watches the lovers dance in moonlight. Suddenly, a beacon of light shines brightly in the distance.....
(Enter The Queen of Winter)- "Fairer hath no light been shown, then that of the Queen of Winter, throned"....
Amidst the creatures of the night, the pale enchantress’s emerald eyes meet those of a handsome , black-clad prince. The gaze is held as they both peer into the window of souls.
The Dark Prince speaks to himself: "Evening minuetto in a castle by the sea. A jewel more radiant than the moon, lowered her masque to me."
The Queen of Winter speaks to herself: "Beyond the mist, moon glancing, his eyes likes asphodel, desires of thy heart, how does thou know so well?"
And so Loves spell has been cast Amidst this warm summer’s eve.
Act III. Times and times and times and a half
Throughout the land when the sow is reaped, into the white barren wonderland and back again the Queen of Winter and the Dark Prince reveal the deepest secrets of their hearts, as they dance to a lovers minuet.
The Queen of Winter: "My sweetest Endymion, I ride the waves of a silver sky to watch thee dream at night."
The Dark Prince: "My pale enchantress, Come with thee to a castle by sea. Thy marriage bed is prepared."
But as the Queen of Winter tries to step into the Dark Prince’s lair, she is trapped by the snow of her own kingdom. The spirit in the sky has kept these star-crossed lovers from entering into each other’s realms. The only time the Dark Prince and his Winter Queen may meet is in the first glimpse of dusk, when the foreboding breathe of the night sky, touches the first ray of a heavenly star. For the desires of the sinful nature have cursed the Dark Prince into the blackness of the night, never stepping into the glow of the dawn.
"And so the story goes, such tragedy in repose. Light and darkness can never be... for there is no castle by the sea."
The End
