Gosh the Nexus sign is awfully bright for April tonight. She shields her eyes before asking her question. "How can someone find something that can't be seen, can't be heard, can't be touched, or can't be traced?"

"I could really use a starting point to get me on the right path."

It's funny April should ask that question, in light of Arthur's situation.

He looks around in a state of shock, as if he's just been yanked from somewhere important. In fact he has a torch in hand.

He blinks. "If you find out, let me know."

"You seem upset Arthur."

[not_a_clotpole]

"Merlin is...I've just...he's frozen." Arthur stumbles over his words, lowering his torch slightly.

"What...what's happened to you?"

[slayers_desire]

"Frozen in stone? In ice? In his body?" Some clarification can help.

April pauses at his question. Really there is no easy way to explain her situation, especially to someone she considers a friend. Especially when that friend is suspicious of magic.

"I am seeking part of my soul."

Can it be smelt?

"No. It is an intangible thing that I seek."

She hesitates; she's noticed that those in the nexus do not seem to mind magic - but doesn't quite trust it. Regardless... "Have you tried sorcercy?"

"There are a few spells I could cast, but I would need to use them in the right dimension."

Jake doesn't notice anything strange at first. "Well with me, I had to shut up and listen. With my heart, too, not just my ears."

"I been tuning to the voices, but they too are uncertain. My heart at least is safe. Clark will keep it safe."

"Why would it need to be safe? What's wrong?"

[slayers_desire]

A slight fidget as she again looks for the words. "Part of my soul was taken."

[chiron_survivor]

"If it's something that exists, then you can eventually trace it," Adia replies with some confidence. Her field of study is micro-organisms, after all. "You just need sensitive enough equipment. What are you looking for?"

[slayers_desire]

"A soul. Actually."

[chiron_survivor]

Well, that stops Adia up short. She stares blankly. "A soul. I don't know if..." Then she frowns, silencing her doubts. If it's real to April, then it must have some tangible quality. "Is there some sort of magical device you could use? A soul detector?"

"Maybe... I don't know if something like that exists in my world. There are spells, but they aren't being helpful."

[brasslantern]

"Begin by working in the reverse," offers the magician. "Eliminate all places you know it will -not- be. I realise it seems obvious, but...."

"I know where it isn't now. But that does make sense."
