"Dean's a lumberjack and he's ok! He works all night and he sleeps all day!"
ok, well, maybe not, but.. oh hell, i can't think of anything else witty to say, stop pressuring me.
Once, when I was in band camp.. actually, once a few years back, there was a heavy duty storm in Plainview, and I woke up the next morning to find a whole fully grown tree laying in the neighbor's yard where there hadn't been a tree before. We never figured out where the hell the tree was dropped from, but it wasn't anywhere on our street. I used to have pictures of it somewhere.
Anyway, sorry you had to deal with that last night. I'm surprised you had cable and phone and electricity back on so quickly. And what the hell? When I left in '04, they were starting to install underground electrical.. did that fall through?
heh, remember that one time, when the guy in Lubbock took the axe to the cable company's equipment in the middle of the night because he was so pissed off about losing service constantly? Priceless. He deserved a medal.
Oh geez.... I'll take branches falling off anytime over mystery trees appearing. :( At least I know where these came from.
I was rather surprised that it all came back so soon, too. I fully expected that it would be off until sometime up in the morning. Maybe someone in the Ol' Boy Network was doing something and needed their electricity back on right then... and they couldn't figure out how to fix just his without fixing the rest of us, too.
I think the underground power thing went the way of the supposed hike-and-bike trail. They started it, ran out of money, and got distracted by something else before they could get back to it. Or someone's brother-in-law "won" the contract and is "working on it."
hehehe :) Yeah, I remember that. I bet he didn't have to buy a drink for months after that.
