Our work xmas meal took place at Tumeric Gold this evening and how lovely it was! Considering I've been in Coventry for 2 months and some of my temps have been in the store for 1.5 weeks we all had a lovely, relaxing time and it was fab to get to know some things about people! I liked the non-traditional Indian meal because it felt like we were celebrating as a team rather than celebrating a christian occasion. Wine, food and good conversation with the people who are my freinds in Cov. It's funny how you keep having to make new circles of friends wherever you go and while the circles often disintegrate, you often find one or two special treasures who you want to keep in touch with long-term. I often think about the people i saw on a day to day basis in Aber and how much they made me smile and that maybe they don't know how much they mean to me if i don't tell them. Keeping in touch takes time, effort and enthusiam but people are worth that effort. My 2007 resolution will be to make more effort to keep in touch and also visit people.

I can't wait for our party!

Alistair's parents are visiting tomorrow and i'm still not sure whether we'll go out for food or whether we will cook them dinner [the latter scares me considerably!] I'm nervous about entertaining and showing that i look after their son!! domesticity is not always easy and Alistair and i are still working out a little routine with all aspects of home life. Yesterday we had a misunderstanding about cooking and things and i felt like i wanted to escape all that home stuff that seems to affect most people. I always wanted us to be different and that bit more special that we never argue over cooking or washing! I think i can be a bit controlling and obsessive about things whereas Alistair is more laid back about house stuff! Generally, everything is fan-dabby-dozy and i am extremely happy. I think yesterday i was just a bit overwhelmed with being a boring house-girlfriend rather than the girl he fell in love with. Hmmm.

I am very sleepy. Nighty night xxxx
