Leaning against a wall, she tried to pull down the skirt that was rapidly riding up her thighs. As the rain pelted down on her, she regretted taking the job. Wind whipped her waist-length brown hair across her face, causing a stinging sensation. She would definately have to get her hair cut, she thought to herself. She shivered as the rain soaked thru the thin clothing she wore. She looked down the street but still no sign of him. A car crawled along the curb, the single male occupant eyeing the girls huddled as far out of the rain as possible. 'Don't stop!' she silently repeated in her mind. She held her breath until the car stopped to pick up another girl a few meters further down. She considered coloring her hair too, something vibrant, what about pink. She dismissed it and let other thoughts take its place, anything to stop thinking about the cold. A movement caught the corner of her eye and she watched without looking as a man stopped his black car at the building in front of her. She watched the man get out. It was him... Looking around, she walked off, nodding to a hobo as she passed him. It would be nice to get out of the cold. Maybe pink wouldn't be a bad color after all.

The black leather clad woman waited just inside the doorway, pretending to look at the mail in one of the open mailboxes in front of her. The door opened and she fought the urge to look up. Shuffling the mail like she was looking for something, the person walked past. She allowed herself a little look as they had their back to her. They didn't seem suspicious. Come on,get it over with! Two tap noises came thru her comms and she braced herself, pulling a knife just in case the primary failed. A bang sounded, blood splattered against reinforced glass. She slid her knife home in its sheath and walked towards the fire escape. Opening it, she slipped silently away.

He stood where noone could see him, hiding in the shadows. He saw one standing against the wall, fitting in perfectly to the untrained eye, to the trained eye, the clothes were too new, too unused and she wasn't used to them. Looking around, he saw another hiding under some rubble. Disgust registered on the mans face as he looked around himself, another error. A muzzle stuck out over the cornice of a building opposite. A movement caught his eye and he saw one of the streetwalkers look around and then duck down an alleyway. He followed stealthily. She was starting to climb the stairs to the building the sniper was on. The double click sounded and yanking on her foot, he pulled her down. The gunshot hit the sound of her neck snapping as he twisted it. Cataloging to himself as he walked away, they needed more training.

He was surrounded in trash, it was all that filled his nostrils. He watched to women lined up against the street, short skirts, low cut tops, trying to make a little money to feed the kids at home. He watched her, huddled against the wall as he sheltered in a cardboard hovel. She was beautiful but to him looked wrong. To anyone else she would fit in perfectly, but he hated that she had to do it. He almost ran his hand through his hair until he caught sight of it at the last minute. It would take a year in the shower to get the dirt off. A car blocked his view of her for a second before moving again. She looked around, finding him in the dirt and nodded her head. The mark was here. He tapped twice on his mic, getting to his feet. As gunshot rang around the block, he slowly walked away, pushing his trolley full of junk and cans and faded into the backdrop.

Bending over the engine of a car, she worked. Tuning this, tightening that, she worked on. He might not turn up for hours and she had noticed a rattle in the engine earlier. Rubbing her eye, a grease streak spread across her pale skin. Her dark hair captured in a tight ponytail kept falling over her shoulder. Ah hah, she thought as she pulled a loose wire from where it had fallen. Putting it back where it was supposed to go, she tightened it so that it would not be having any ideas of wiggling its way loose again later. She walked around and turned the key in the engine. The rattle had gone, but what was that pnk sound? A double tap sounded on the comm. Shit! I'll get back to you later! she thought at the car. Slamming down the bonnet she started it up. Gunshot rang out over the quiet street. Booting the accelerator, she drove to the rendezvous.

"Its just like shooting cans, that's all it is! Line up the target and pull the trigger. That's all it is! It's easy!" Even whispering that to herself she could not make herself believe it. What she was planning, what Hope had told her to do, she didn't know if she could do it. She pulled out the plugs from her wrist and clicked them into place on her gun. Crosshairs clouded her vision for a second as she got used to them. Aiming the rifle downwards she wiggled forward. The rough gravel of the roof rubbed against her clothing, a few pebbles sneaking inside her clothing, distracting her slightly. She pushed everything out of her mind as she lined up the spot her target had to walk through. Her blonde hair was covered by a black hood, her clothing covered in waterproof fabric. She was ready to run after she had done her part of the job. A double click over the comm in her ear caused her grip to tighten on the rifle. She had to be ready. The back of a head appeared in her sights. Reflexively she pulled the trigger, closing her eyes. A loud bang echoed in her ears. She opened her eyes again, the head wasn't in her sights anymore. Skooching back, she turned her back, not wanting to look. It was done!
