Hello! How have you all been? It's getting rather boring these days isn't it? Hardly anything to do. Damn, I miss football!
But good news, I hear that United are playing a friendly against Aberdeen on 12th July! Which is like next week! Yay!!! And some United fans reckon that Rodrigo may get to play, which makes me absolutely drool in anticipation! Not that I'll be able to watch it or anything, but just reading about it will be so much fun.
Particularly since there is nothing in the news other than the whole Ronaldo saga, and the new Carlos Queiroz saga. And hearing how every new starlet apparently turned United down to go to Spurs, Portsmouth, Hull city, or wherever. Who do they think they are kidding? Honey, if you were good enough, you would be at Carrington right now. Unless you're Aaron Ramsay of course. You know, I don't really blame him. Arsenal are known for giving more of a chance to their youngsters than us. And we were planning to loan him back to Cardiff whereas Wenger probably promised him a few games in the premiership. Not to mention the whole 'wooing him by flying him out to Austria' bit. But it's a bit stupid to come out with all the "I'm a lifelong Manchester United fan, but I'd rather play with Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal" kind of quotes. Ok, maybe I'm just a little bit bitter. Sorry, I just tend to take every slight against them personally.
One thing I don't understand, the players have been back in training since Wednesday, but yet there is not even one measly picture. Hello? We're starving in here! Give us some pictures at least! I want to see my boys. *pouts*
At least there are some interviews. Especially
this lovely one with my Mikey. Sorry, I'm a bit behind the times, it's a couple of days old. Unsurprisingly, I agree with everything he's said. And I'm amazed that people still give him grief over the high transfer fee, and the no. 16 shirt. FFS, it's not his fault that English players are so ridiculously overpriced. And he's more than made up for it, he's been outstanding for us. I also don't understand why everyone is like "He's not Roy Keane". Of course he isn't. And I wouldn't want him to be either. Keano is Keano, and no one can ever replace him. When Michael joined us and Fergie gave him the no. 16 shirt, I think it was more symbolic of the faith which Fergie had in him and the confidence that he would go on to play as important a role as Keano did. And he's done that in style. Michael Carrick was exactly what United needed in 2006/07 and I'm ever so glad that we got him. There were people saying that the only reason we went for him was because the Owen deal didn't materialise, but that is fairly ridiculous. You don't buy a back-up player for 18 million.
Speaking of transfers, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been in the news
making noises about how Manchester United would be a 'dream' move for him. He also claims that there is interest from our side. I wonder if he could be the 'one' signing that Fergie was referring to. I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion, but I can't help but be a bit cautious. I get the feeling that he's exactly similar to Ruud, and I wouldn't want United to go back to a 'fixed' sort of formation. I think our fluid interchanging of forwards is what made us so difficult to handle last season, and we need a striker who can fit into that system. But I trust Sir Alex, he's knows better than anyone else what we need. And a guy who scores 30 something goals a season, albeit in the Dutch League, can't be too bad, can he?
