The Big Day!!!!
Oh my god, it's finally THE BIG DAY!!!
I've been so nervous since morning, and I can hardly wait! Oh why does the game have to be so late? I'm going to breakdown completely by the time it finally kicks off!
I really did not need to hear of Cashley's injury. It just made me even more nervous for our players. But thankfully, we don't have anyone as stupid as Makelele. Who on earth makes a two-footed lunge like that in training? Tsk Tsk, if I were Ashley Cole and had to miss the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL because of a tackle like that, I would seriously be incensed. All the same, I hope he recovers. No one should miss such a big game like that. Plus, I want to see us beat Chelsea fair and square and leave them no excuses.
But the day started off brightly enough! My local newspaper decided to be very kind to me, and they posted an absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous picture of Owen! Honestly, it is one of the best pictures I've seen! And there was a lovely article too, about why he left Bayern, and how 'special' the comraderie and team spirit is at United. *sighs* He's just lovely!

Also, in another newspaper there was a picture of Cristiano and Wazza, so another good omen! Plus, there were these facts which make for very good reading, if you are a Man United supporter-
+Out of the last 10 finals, 5 teams who had scored less goals in the semis than their fellow finalists went on to win the trophy.
+Only once has the team which scored more goals in the semis gone on to win the trophy.
+The other 4 times, both the finalists have scored equal number of goals in the semis.
So, what does this mean for us? Well, we scored 1 goal in the semis, Chelsea scored 4. Sounds good, doesn't it?
Also, consider this. In the last 52 finals, there were 38 first time finalists(like Chelsea) Out of those, 15 times they went on to win(actual number is 9, because 6 times both the finalists were new) and 23 times they lost. Sounds even better!!
Also, we've been in the final 3 times, and won all 3.
Oh dear, I can't believe I've resorted to spouting off stupid facts to make me feel better! I'm so nervous, and excited that I'm clinging onto any little bit of hope!
