We'll Never Die...

You know, I always thought it happened only in cheesy romantic films and novels - the one moment when the character is suddenly struck by an epiphany and something which they'd known all along suddenly becomes crystal clear to them. The sudden realisation of a feeling that had been difficult to describe. That's what happened to me tonight. Tonight ( Read more... )

portsmouth, fa cup, manchester united

And Rio almost, almost saved it. He guessed correctly, but wasn't quick enough. Imagine if he had, I would have screamed myself hoarse!
Had he the movement of a trained goalie, he would have gotten it. poor baby. I'm pretty sure the way Rio 'works', he's blaming himself for not being quicker. Wah. But yes, had he gotten it, I would have screamed the whole apartment complex down. heh.

Fergie says he wouldn't put a time limit on his time with United. So basically, he said the same as before - as long as he's fit and all.. Yes. He is love. Remember when he completely lost it after a reporter had tried to use Cristiano's not yet great grasp of the English language against him? Heh.

And out of the three, the FA Cup was always the one with less priority.
Absolutely. And while our midfield is brimming with awesome players both our defense and our attack are a bit short in alternatives. Because if injuries and stuff. So a few matches less might not be such a bad thing after all. Especially with the Euro in the summer which means a short vacation for the players. - Oh God, I just wanted to say that the only one really happy about it will be Wayne with his hate for time without footie but damn fuck. No England in the summer. Frick. Totally forgot.

You know, I heard from someone who had gone to the match that Wazza actually took his shirt off and was demanding the keeper's jersey. Apparently, he used to play as keeper when he was young. But Fergie yelled at him to give it to Rio. I wonder if Wayne might have had the required training to have saved it? But I really can't imagine him as a keeper, it must have been when he was really young!
Yeah, Rio probably does blame himself, it was written all over his face when the shot went in. Poor baby, he had a great game up until then.

Oh yeah, that was brilliant. I heard that he was so foul-mouthed that they didn't dare show it! Hah, I'm so glad he told the reporter exactly what he thought. But he's always believed in speaking his mind, hasn't he? I'm glad he spoke his mind about the FA too, even though most people are calling him a sore loser. Maybe now they'll actually sit up and take notice.

Yeah, I have to keep reminding myself of that too. It will be so strange won't it? We'll hardly have anyone to cheer. I can think of only Cris, Nani, EVDS, Pat maybe? But that's it. Hard to imagine what the English boys will be doing. I hope Wazza goes there to cheer on Cristiano!

I have this feeling that Fergie needs to do quite a bit of parental yelling with this squad and Wazza especially. Heh.
Didn't know he had been trained as keeper. *tries to remember if he wrote something about it in his autobiography and comes up blank* Huh. And well, even with the training, I would imagine he would have lacked some vital centimeters in getting it. *le sigh*

I heard that he was so foul-mouthed that they didn't dare show it!
So foul-mouthed. I don't remember it exactly but like every second word was not polite. Heh.

...even though most people are calling him a sore loser.
You know, I think you're onto one of the reasons, why the English league won't adapt to the needs of modern footie. Ref-related I mean. Player-wise they very much adapted obviously. Wah again.

So strange. No England, no clash between Wazza and Cristiano. No lovely scenes of friendly teasing. Damn. And well, of course, I'll be cheering for Portugal, even though the way they played in the qualifiers didn't make me happy at all. Won't stop me from going totally crazy over them anyway. Oh well. ;P

Oh yes, I can just see him acting all fatherly. On more than one occasion Cris has mentioned that Ferige is like his father or mother. I suppose it's the same with Wayne and the others.

You're right about the vital centimetres though. I don't think there are any goalkeepers that are short. Edwin is an absolute giant, must be why he's so good at shot-stopping.

I'll probably be cheering Spain too, along with Portugal. I just hope that we get some good entertaining games. England will be missed, with all the hype that follows them, and the media attention. In fact it will be very quiet I suppose!

Edwin is a giant. Yup. But there are goalies shorter. Like...damn, what's the name of the French goalie that played the last WC? Gah.

ZOMG. You are right. Totally didn't think about all that. No WAGs. Man. As much as they annoyed the hell out of me in the past, all the hype was so entertaining. Who shall we gossip about now? *pouts*

Barthez? I don't know, but yeah I think he was a bit short.

Yup, no more reading reports about how they jumped on the tables in some random pub and started singing about their husbands, or how they spent more money than most people earn in their lifetimes at one shop. It will be so boring! :)
