~Prom~

Jared stood in his bedroom, dressed in his tux, minus his jacket. He grabbed his jacket and slipped it on was as his mother closed it. “I look okay, mom?”

“Jared, sweetheart, your belly really doesn’t show. You’re lucky you’re so tall.”

Jared gave a small smile. “Good. I mean, I know everyone knows I’m pregnant, but I still just like not showing it off and getting dirty looks.”

“You two look good.” That was when the doorbell rang. “I think your date is here or your ride.”

“Please go see who. I want to surprise Jensen.” She nodded and headed down to the door and opened it to see a limo outside and Jensen standing there with a red rose for Jared’s jacket. She smiled at him. “You look great.”

“Thanks. Mrs. Kinkade, can I ask you a question before Jared comes down?”

“Yes, Jensen, please come in.” She walked them to the living room. She took a seat in a chair as Jensen sat down on the couch.

“Is Mr. Kinkade here?” She nodded and walked into the study at the end of the hallway and came back with Jared’s father.

Jensen stood up. “I would like to ask you both if I can have the honor of asking for Jared’s hand in marriage?” Jared’s mother smiled.

“Yes, son. You have my blessing to marry my son,” Jared’s father said. Jared’s mother walked over and gave Jensen a kiss on the cheek.

“Thank you both.”

Then the doorbell rang. Jared’s father let Mark in as Jared’s mother walked over to the bottom of the stairs. “Jared, your date and ride are here.”

Jared smiled when he heard his mother and came walking down the stairs slowly and smiled when he saw Jensen waiting at the end of the stairs at the front door with Mark next to him with his date.

“This is for you.” Jensen pinned the rose to Jared’s jacket.

“Thank you.” Jared gave Jensen a kiss.

“You guys have fun.” They watched them walk out of the house.

“Mark, you outdid yourself.” Mark laughed,(comma) looking at the limo.

“Not me.”

Jared looked over at Jensen. “You?”

“I need my prince to feel like a prince.” He kissed him.

“Thank you, Jensen.”

“Anything for you. Let’s go to prom.” Jensen helped Jared into the limo. The looked at the city lights.
