PromptJust something I wrote real quick.

Erik was right. Charles knew that, he could feel the big cannons turning toward the small island they were on. He could feel the jolt in the air. The missiles whistled through the air and Charles looked at Erik.
He could feel the hate and anger he held towards the humans. Charles wouldn’t let him kill the innocent men on the ships. He wanted to prove to Erik that they weren’t all bad, that not all wanted to hurt or imprison them.
“Erik don’t!” he could feel how close they were when he said it. Adrenaline pumped through his veins as he watched Erik. He rose his hands and took control of the missiles.
“Erik, there are innocent men on those ships. Please.” Charles begged, hoping his please would persuade him to disarm the bombs.
Charles knew what Erik was gonna do, even before he did it. He could see it in his head, his persuasion didn’t seem to affect him. He wasn’t going to let him do it, let him kill all those men.
Erik was blind, blinded by the hate that he had held within him for a long time. He couldn’t see the love Charles had for him. Couldn’t pick up the signs that Charles played. All the flirting, and the talks to each other while they played chess.
Charles loved the man, even though he is so filled with hatred. He wanted to be able to heal him, to save him from himself but he knew he couldn’t. Charles knew the path Erik was headed on and no matter how much he wants it to be different, it could never be.
He looked over at Erik, ‘I have to stop him.’ Charles knew what he had to do. So he ran towards him, as the bombs got closer to the ships, he stopped in front of Erik and placed his hands on his cheeks. He looked into his eyes for a second before he leant in and placed a kiss onto his soft lips.
Erik lost focus and let go as he stared wide eyed at Charles. Charles just stood there and heard splashes in the ocean behind him as he got lost in those eyes.
