***************

Sam Winchester prided himself on being rather sneaky when he wanted to be. Being a hunter required it, after all, but Sam liked to think that he was particularly good at stealth, especially considering his size. And that stealth did help him figure out something that surprised him as well as made him laugh hysterically, if only on the inside.

His brother Dean, tough and manly Dean, liked to cuddle.

Let the laughter ensue.

The first time that Sam had seen it, it had been a complete accident. He knew that Dean and Castiel were together, but he had never really seen the two of them do anything remotely 'couple-like' since that discovery. Castiel tended to gravitate towards Dean whenever he was with them, but that was nothing new, although now the angel didn't bother doing it all sneaky like.

Anyway.

Sam had been sleeping when he heard voices in the room. He recognized Dean's voice first, so he simply lay there for a moment. Castiel's voice was the second he heard, and he realized that by the direction their voices were coming from, they were both lying in Dean's bed.

"Come on Cas, just stay..."

"I should not, Sam is in the other bed."

A slight scoff. "He could sleep through a hurricane. It's not like we're going to do anything. I just want you to stay here."

"...Very well."

There was a shuffling of blankets and the squeak of the mattress, and then a sigh before they went still. Castiel didn't need the sleep, but he liked to indulge periodically now that they had the time for that sort of thing. The soft smack of lips made Sam grin to himself, rejoicing on the inside that Dean had found someone that he cared that much about.

Since that time, he had found Dean and Castiel in various positions of what could only be called snuggling, and he found it absolutely hilarious. Not long after that, he had begun taking pictures, mostly with his phone, managing to catch the two of them at least once a week. His collection grew rather quickly, and a plan formed in his mind just as swiftly.

And this led to this particular moment, when Sam was holding a plain looking binder in his hands, full of the pictures that he had spent the last year collecting. Dean was sitting in front of him on the couch, Castiel just beside him with his thigh pressed flush to Dean's. Both of them were staring at him quizzically, Castiel with that signature head tilt that Sam could only call adorable.

"And what the hell is this?"

Sam grinned, offering the binder once more. "Just take a look Dean. It's an anniversary present."

Dean scowled at those words. "It's not an anniversary."

"Indeed it is not. Dean and I have been together for longer than a year..."

"Well this is when it became official." Sam interrupted. "Now take a look and quit bitching, jerk."

Dean took the book, absentmindedly muttering "Bitch" as he did. He settled the binder in his lap and opened it, and then his mouth fell open slightly at the first picture. "What..."

It was he and Castiel, lying in the backseat of the Impala. It had been one of the times that they hadn't found a motel before exhaustion had crept up on them, and so they had simply crashed in the Impala. Sam, being the Sasquatch that he was, had taken up the entirety of the front seat, leaving Dean and Castiel to cope with the back. Dean was lying on his back, Castiel draped over his chest, head tucked beneath Dean's chin and both of them fast asleep.

Castiel tapped the image with a finger. "I recall this. I was not aware that you had a camera with you at that time, Samuel."

Sam waved his phone in way of explanation, and the angel nodded his understanding. Dean flashed a glare at him, at which Sam rolled his eyes and gestured for his brother to continue. Dean huffed, but turned the page nevertheless.

The next image was one of Sam's personal favorites, just because it was so hilarious to him. Sam had left the hotel to get food, and had returned to see the far bed in the room obscured by a wave of feathers. The mound was instantly recognizable as Castiel's wings, the black shimmering with colors as the moved with the angel's breathing.

Raising an eyebrow, Sam had lifted his phone with a shrug, figuring that this counted as a snuggling moment, as he totally knew that Dean was under there with Castiel. At the moment that he'd snapped the picture though, the dark wing had pulled back, revealing Castiel wrapped around Dean like an octopus, the hunter's face buried against his throat. Sam still thought that it had been perfect timing; Castiel was looking at the camera with a near-glare on his features, as though to say 'Quit looking at my hunter, damnit!' and Sam could still get a good laugh from remembering that moment.

Dean grumbled once more, but he continued through the album. Most were taken in hotel rooms after hunts, when all three of them were close to exhausted, though Castiel never really did tire in the true sense of the word. Some were from Bobby's house, like the one where Castiel had been sitting on the couch and Dean had passed out propped against his chest, and the angel had simply followed him in slumber. Others were like the first, taken in the Impala, one with Dean resting against the window with Castiel's head against his throat, another with Dean laying with his head in the angel's lap.

It was all there; Dean holding Castiel to him like the angel was going to disappear the way that he had always done before, Castiel doing the same, the two of them wrapped around each other as though they were trying to sink into each other's skin. The smiles that flickered across Castiel's face as they went through the photos were brief and bright, and Sam felt a surge of happiness as he saw that even Dean was starting to enjoy looking back through the last year of the life that he had shared with his angel.

"How the hell did you manage to get all of these without me noticing?" Dean asked after a moment, lingering on a picture of him lying on his back on the hotel bed, Castiel's head resting against his chest and his fingers tangled in the dark mop of hair. "Half the time without Cas even noticing, for that matter..."

Sam chuckled softly. "I'm like a ninja, Dean."

His brother snorted. "More like a lumberjack. You make a lot more noise most of the time than you think you do, Gigantor."

"Jerk."

"Bitch."

Castiel flipped another page, and Dean let out a shout of surprise. "What the hell?.! We're totally naked in that picture, Sam!"

"There are blankets. Do you think I would have even been in the room if there weren't?"

"I quite like this photo." Castiel interjected, running a finger across the printed image of his and Dean's bare legs tangled together, the blanket covering the two of them from ribs to knees. "It is very... artistic."

Dean blinked, and then scoffed. "Artistic? Two naked dudes laying there is artistic?"

"Two cuddling dudes." Sam corrected brightly, finally bringing up the word that Dean had been avoiding this entire time.

"I do not cuddle!"

Sam nodded sagely. "Sure Dean, you go ahead and keep maintaining that delusion. How is it so far in that closet, by the way?"

Dean glared at him. "I do not cuddle. I just... gravitate towards warmth when I'm asleep. We happen to be lying beside each other."

"You snuggle. Get over it."

"I don't!"

Castiel once again spoke, making the two of them look at him. "There appears to be an entire photo album of evidence to the contrary, Dean."

Dean crossed his arms. "You're supposed to side with me, Cas, not him!"

"I do not recall that being a part of our relationship."

Sam couldn't help it, he burst out laughing while Dean transferred his dirty look to his little brother.

The thing that probably made Sam laugh the most was that even after all of the complaining and dirty looks during the giving of the album, he still saw Dean carefully place the binder in his bag later that night, giving it one last touch before returning to his bed, where he promptly curled up with Castiel, pulling the angel close to his chest before heaving a sigh of content.

Sam shook his head slightly against his pillow before rolling over, giving his brother what semblance of privacy that he could.

Yup, no matter how much he might deny it, Dean was a total closet cuddler.

But at least he had finally found someone to love him, and who would stay with him no matter what happened. Sam knew that he could count on Castiel to do that.

And that helped him sleep just a little easier at night.

...but that didn't stop him from keeping the camera next to his bed, just in case.
