We went off in search of tag sales this morning. I was really hoping to find some sort of stand or small table to use for plants on the back deck, but we were not successful. We came away with a dress suitable for me to wear to the holiday gala at work (It more or less fits me, but will be too large if I lose weight), a nice glass pitcher and two pilsners, a wooden thing for magazines that fits alongside our toilet in the bathroom (Yay! No more racing papers soaking up the condensation!) and an outlet adapter. Total expense: $13.50. The best purchase was the glass pitcher. We didn't have anything like that. I had to make lemonade in a Tupperware jug last time we had people over. The $5 dress would have been the best purchase, if it fit perfectly and was a bit more flattering.
We had breakfast at the Adirondack Grill, I worked in the garden, and Steve and I put netting over the berry bushes in an effort to save a few of the berries from the birds. Steve stacked the wood that he split the other night. I did two loads of laundry so far, and sat out on the deck reading a magazine for about 20 minutes. Steve's out buying a few groceries now (including the makings of strawberry daquiris!) and I've been sanding down an old painted watering can so I can repaint it and use it as a planter. I have had this watering can for at least 5 years, probably closer to 10, always with the intention of sanding it down and repainting it. All of a sudden, today, I just did it. Go figure.
Am I tired? Sort of. I slept for 11 hours last night, despite trying to rouse myself beginning at around 7:30. While I was out on the back deck reading, I thought I was going to fall asleep, and I'm sure I could nap right now if I tried. So weird.
