Last night I got a primer on how to play Pokemon. For starters, I didn't know Pokemon was actually a game. I thought it was just like baseball cards, where you trade them for better ones. No. There's a whole crazy game involving energy and evolution (Do the Creationists know about this???) and Aquas and Magmas, and it's all extremely complicated and confusing. It's even worse when a 7-year old is trying to explain it all to you, clearly growing more and more disgusted with your ignorance - especially when you tell him that you think a certain character is kind of cute when, apparently, said character is PURE EVIL!!!

By the time I left home yesterday evening, the cats both appeared to be fine and both seemed to have forgiven me for taking them to the vet. Of course, Minnie doesn't know what she's in for. It was very challenging to get her into the carrier yesterday. She yowled and wrapped her legs around my neck (surprisingly not really trying to get away though - it was like she was running to me for protection, even though I was the one trying to put her in the carrier). I can't wait to try to do it again in a couple of weeks. Yay!

We went to a small gathering of friends last night, to visit one who was home for a few days from her new digs in California. It's always nice when she's here, because it always results in the gathering of this particular group of friends, all of whom I enjoy very much. Despite my raging head cold, I had a good time and managed to last until almost 10:00 before slipping into a walking coma.

Today we descend upon the Albany Country Club for the first phase of Operation Take Over the World. Or to go to a wedding, whichever seems more convenient at the time.
