On my way home, all the best stations were on commercials so I ventured into my FM2 list which includes the easy listening and hits from the "70's, 80s, and TODAY!" stations. Well I happen to chance upon a some real gems! First was Bobby-freakin'-Brown's hit Don't Be Cruel which is totally a song that Ben Sailei sang in my elementary school talent show! God...Ben Sailei...i wonder what happened to that kid. Odd choice for a ten year old kid now that I think about it, especially since that song was well over five years old at the time of the talent show. That was the year I got stitches in my knee from the infamous escalator accident. That was the year I was the fastest in my class at multiplying. That was the year I learned to be coy. That was the year I started listening to grunge! You took me there Bobby Brown. You took me there...

And I have to mention En Vogue. Oh En Vouge, you Funky Divas! I never knew how wise you truly were until now. And i say that in all sincerity. I never before understood where you were coming from and what you were talking about. ...I've been reading their lyrics and I could go on about what they mean to me. But I think they've said it all best. So i'll leave you with some advice from the women who are ever talented, ever sexy, and are "giving me something I can feeeeel"...ladies and gents...I give you En Vouge...

Hold On (1990)

Oooh, my first mistake was
I wanted too much time
I had to have him morning, noon, and night
If I would of known then
The things that I know now
I might not have lost the time I complain about

Don't waste your time
Fighting blind minded thoughts of dispair
Hold on to your love
You gotta hold on
Hold on to your love
Ooh, ooh, baby hold on
Hold on to your love
You gotta hold on
Hold on to your love

The art of playing games now
Is not the hearts you break
It's bound to good love you make
When it's heart's on fire
Give him love evryday
Remember he needs space
Be patient and he'll give his heart to you

chorus

Trust and honesty too
Must be the golden rule
You'll feel the strength of passion in your soul
Burn so deeply within
Ooh, the magic that you share
So sacrifice and show how much you care

chorus

Keep the ties
Hang on tight
And don't let go
No, no, no, no
If you need him
Just keep on
Just keep on hanging on
Little trust, honesty, golden rules
Feel the strength of passion in your soul
It's burning so deep
Have faith
Just keep the fire burning at home
Hey yea
He'll come home to you
He'll be there for you
He'll want to have you
