I just read Emmy's entry and that's so exciting to be living 'round those parts again. Those were good times. I'm actually starting to plan a trip to Sweden some time in February to visit a friend. Why? Well, because I really have the traveling bug again and who cares if a blow a bit of my to-be-used-to-pay-off-loans next egg I have going. By February i'll have well earned it and prices for flights aren't too bad. I know i'll probably die there just a little bit. February is supposedly the coldest month but I really want to experience that. Feeling a temperature below 30*F is something i'm willing to experience before I die...and quite possibly while I die. On my way i'm thinking of stopping over in London if any of you happen to be in the area during Feb. I'm thinking of either going to Sweden in Feb or Illinois in the summer to see those damn fireflies Nicole goes on about. Or maybe both trips! What do you think Nicole or are you gonna be too busy with my secret BFF, Paul?
Remember how I told you all was going to run sound again for a show at the Boston Court Theater? Or maybe I didn't. Well, I decided last sunday that I would quit so I called them up and did. I have weekends again. Yay! This Sunday will be my first day without work in a month and a half. I'm totally stoked even though i'm working all day on Saturday at Oxy.
Anyway, my reason for bringing up Boston Court was because they hired a light operator as well as me, the sound operator. there was a night that the stupid Stage Manager called Kyle and I in WAY earlier than necessary for a show so we took a walk to the store and bought some stuff that you'd buy at a gas station store and he told me that he was all into doing tarot readings. He figured out that I was a "high priestess" and read what she's about and it was totally wrong so I was being all skeptical. Late last night he texted me saying he figured it wrong and it turns out i'm the "Empress". So I took the liberty today of looking up what that means. Here it is:
Thirteen's Observations
The Empress card is one of the easier trumps to read. She's Mother. Generally, Mother in a good sense. Patient, loving, giving, generous. If defining her as the Querent, you can say that they are currently feeling like a mother hen, worried about their children, new business, new creation, new romance. Male or female, they want to dote and hover and fret over every little sneeze and problem. If defining the Empress as someone related to the Querent, well, it might well be the Querent's Mom, or a woman who's very motherly toward them.
Of course, the Empress can also be the worst aspects of an attentive Mom; she can smother, not know when to let go, be possessive and jealous of those who would take away her "baby." It is important for the Querent to realize that plants can die from over-watering as easily as neglect.
This card tells the Querent that if they want their new romance, new career, new business, new creation to grow into all it can be they have to pay attention to it, baby it and be willing to let it take those first steps when it is ready. Most of all, like any pregnant mother or good gardener, they have to be patient. All things need time to gestate and sprout.
AAAAND that really freaked me out because it is so right on the money with what i've been evaluating myself as these past few weeks...a smotherer. That's exactly what I am.
