Events have happened since my last post.
First, Halloween was awesome! I left for Utica on Thursday after work, and on my way there I saw an interesting vehicle.
That's right, it's a truck with flames and a spoiler. I passed by it and slowed down so I could have another look because I couldn't believe how someone could drive a car that looked like that. I knew I wouldn't be able to describe a car like this so I snapped a picture.
Boter hosted a party at his apartment on Friday evening, which was financed by Nadia. It was a lot of fun. A whole bunch of my friends from the IT were there and it was good to see them all. It wasn't long before the booze came out and people were drunk. It was to be expected though, and I got some interesting photos.
Yes, that is a glowstick penis.
I think my costume came out great too. I went as a dark jedi, as did Boter.
I love the corset I got for it, although it was a little on the small side.
On Saturday, I hung out at Boter's apartment since he still had to work for a little bit. Originally, Eric and Levi were going to have a party at their place, but that ended up getting canceled. Instead, when Boter got out of work we headed to the IT in search of something to do. We picked up Andrew from the Mohawk dorm and went down to Adirondack and visited Pat. It was good to see him again and I didn't realize Spaz roomed with him too this year. We talked about random stuff for a few hours before realizing we hadn't eaten for at least 6 hours and decided to go to Denny's. Pat, Spaz, nor Andrew wanted to go so it was just Boter and I. We got there and, to our surprise, not many people were wearing costumes. The staff were and maybe one or two other people. Sucks that holiday spirit is disappearing.
This past week was the week-long shoot for Key Pixel's film, UCF: Abstract Messiah. It was more fun than I thought it would be. I figured that there would be some sort of friction between anyone, but everyone got along really well. When I arrived in Utica, Boter told me we were invited to his parent's place for dinner. We each drove our cars so we could leave one at his parent's so it wouldn't be parked in Utica all week. On the way, I noticed Boter on his phone and he seemed distressed. When we reached his parents place, he informed me that the insurance company they were going to get insurance for the shoot wasn't going to take Laz's credit card because it was Canadian. Neither Boter nor Bryan could put it on their cards so I volunteered to put it on mine. Laz sent me the money via PayPal and I made the Key-Pixelers very happy. Makes me feel good to help them out.
We took my car to Buffalo because all the stuff we needed for the shoot wouldn't fit in Boter's. We got there in the afternoon, and met Bryan at the Larkin building, the location for the shoot. We didn't film anything the first day we were there since not everyone was there.
To make a long story short, the week was amazing!! I played Sgt. Reeves from the STAR Team, as well as a Luddite. I also helped out with sewing the patches for the STAR Team onto the jackets, constructing sets, and doing gopher work.
Here's what the STAR Team costumes looked like. I wish I had a pic with the Luddite costume. I'm sure the Facebook group will have more photos soon, as soon as everyone recovers from the lack of sleep and 18 hour a day filming.
I did manage to get a little banged up during the shoot.
Yea that's a quarter next to the bruise on my thigh. It's been awhile since I had a bruise like that on me. It feels kinda good in a way. Weird that the small scrape on my hand hurts more than that bruise.
Maybe next time I won't wait a month to post again.
