To his annoyance and confusion, Xigbar would fondly call him a "wannabe hero", which was true to an extent. Unlike Sora and Ventus, Roxas never really played out the role of a savior figure. He was of a neutral state, neither for good or the bad, but for the inquiry of his existence and the special bond he shared with his two best friends.
He first started out as a blank slate, not knowing who he was or why he was here. But after accepting Xemnas's proposition, he donned the Organization coat and gained a purpose. He would be a bit slow on the uptake during starting missions, mostly due to the fact that he had no memories, but more experience showed that Roxas was actually quick to pick things up, even noticing some situations that his mission partners looked past. But he was still a "zombie" for a week or so, questioning the goals that were given to him but went along with them anyway, because he too wanted a heart that they all so dearly lacked. The heart that would make him a somebody. But unlike the others, Roxas showed signs of actually having one, even if he wasn't supposed to.
Throughout his whole year, he would laugh over silly things, worry for his comrades, make a few friends, and even cry of sadness. He even to an extent, considered his heartless co-workers his comrades, showing concern over their apparent annihilation in Castle Oblivion. The boy would act so much like a "real" person, it would baffle some and even disgust the others. But even if life as an Organization member would be stressful at times, as long as he could eat ice cream at the clock tower with his two best friends, everything was alright. He could go on like this.
His curiosity however, led to more questions which remained unanswered. Roxas wanted to know who he was, who Xion was and who the "boy in red" was. Yet everyone around him kept mum, one of his best friends even lied to him. This frustrated and hurt him more than anything, but he was so dependent on the Organization that he stayed. And he stayed, until Xion left for good.
In his anger, he would act recklessly, not bothering to think things through. Roxas ran off searching for the answers he so craved, yet clueless on where to go, how to start.
All he wanted was his life- hanging with Axel and Xion over some ice cream. They were all that mattered to him and he was going to get it back... somehow.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ]
Unlike the shiny new Birth by Sleep, 358/2 Days doesn't have many special commands to play out, if any at all. In fact, the game-play sucks butt. For some strange reason, this mundane likes it anyway.
☂ KEYBLADE: Though Roxas can wield the Kingdom Key as a default, he collects Gears along the way to change the Keyblade's form into newer better things (ex. Kingdom Key+ and Kingdom Key ++. Yeah, don't ask.) . Too bad the earlier ones are completely incompetent. He can't even get the Zero Gear (that one panel which can create Two Become One and Oathkeeper/Oblivion) until he's promoted to Legend rank which only happens until after the end of the game. Cheap bastards. He's not even in the Organization anymore.
☂ MAGIC: Fire, Fira, Firaga, Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga, Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga, Aero, Aerora, Aeroga, Cure, Cura, Curaga

☂ LIMIT BREAK: A powerful ability that can be unlocked when the player is rendered at low HP, aka. the desperate back-up plan to beat up hard enemies. When used, status problems can also be healed.
Event Horizon- That one limit in which Roxas envelops himself in light, slashes away at enemies without mercy and summons four tall pillars of light to run them over like a steam roller to a bug.
☂ STRENGTHS: Unlike his two other derp relatives, Roxas had been sent on many solo missions for the majority of his year solely to defeat the Heartless. Although he was occasionally partnered up from time to time, he is used to the fact that it was every man for himself if he wanted to live on and not fall under defeat from the enemies he encountered. The experience from many reconnaissance missions effects the way he looks at things, often analyzing the surroundings around him (and is mostly right too), though aside from the job this could also be due mostly to his enormous curiosity.
☂ WEAKNESSES: However, because of his solidarity ways, teamwork is a foreign subject to him. This could almost be let off due to the fact that he is a Nobody and has no heart this is a lie but aside from his friendship with Axel and Xion, any other type of bonds will confuse his poor brain. Sometimes, just because he doesn't know things, he'll get mad about it. Real mad. Roxas can be easily angered if provoked and if that happens he doesn't really think things out straight like he normally would, so it never ends like a happy fairytale for him.
[ Other Important Facts ]
☂ He can wield an umbrella.
☂ And a stick too. He can even shoot magic out of it!
☂ The Samurai Nobodies are under his command and can summon them at will. (Lies. This was not a game mechanic, but is supposedly supposed to be true according to Nomura.)
☂ He keeps a diary almost daily. He even goes out of his way to count the exact days he lives.
☂ Roxas is Sora's Nobody therefore making him the smart half of the two.
☂ He and this one guy named Ventus-call-him-Ven look creepily alike and he doesn't even know why.
[SPOILER: He just might've stolen Ven's heart from Sora. Oopsie.] Not that he knows much of anything anyway.
☂ Unlike post-game Roxas, he's not at his full power just yet. Unless he wants to become one with his best friend, I highly doubt he'd want it anyway.

He sat teetering on the edge of the apartment's balcony, just like he would've done back at Twilight Town's clock tower. Except, there was no everlasting sunset. No sea-salt ice cream to munch on. No best friends to laugh with.
Nothing, but water.
He was in a different world now, one which felt awfully familiar he couldn't use the dark corridors in. Roxas felt trapped and alone, and he didn't know what to do about it. He sighed and glanced over his shoulder.
Okay... maybe he wasn't alone, but it was still a bit of a stretch.
"If I squint my eyes, you sort of look like Tinkerbell," Roxas said to the little fairy hovering next to him. He then paused, as if waiting for a reply, but never received one as was expected. After all, the other fairy he knew of didn't talk, if not verbally. This one however didn't seem to react in any way, shape or form. Anyhow, still Roxas kept his end of the conversation.
"I wish you were Tinkerbell," he continued, laying his cheek on his propped up knees. "Then you could sprinkle me with some of that sparkly dust and I could fly out of here."
Still no response. The silence was slowly starting to kill him. "Look at me, talking to myself. There's nothing for me here and I can't even take one step into a corridor." Roxas fidgeted in his seat. "... I have to go back. Find a way out of here." He stood up and gazed at the surroundings, hoping to find an edge, an exit. A something. No such luck.
"Everyone said not to go into that forest, " Roxas mused at the patch of green over yonder. "I wonder why..." He pondered to himself, feeling a lingering determination he thought was once lost come back to knock on his door. "Maybe, maybe that place has some clue on how to leave this place."
"And maybe... the three of us can eat ice cream again."
