(no subject)
oh i KNOW you wanna hear about my vacation. so here it is kiddies.
so. much to my dismay i was awoken at 7:15 or so monday morning. got the car all packed up and left at 8 to drop derek's car off at the mechanics. then we stopped at dunkin donuts for breakfast and got going at around 830. didnt get lost too bad until we were actually in hyannis and couldnt find the freakin hotel lol. got there around 1230, but the room wasnt ready, sooo we went to lunch at mcdonalds and then went to get our whale watch tickets. traveled hyannis longer than necessary until we finally found the evasive phinneys lane, which would inevitabley become the epicenter of everything we did during our vacation. anyhoo, we picked up our tickets and headed back to the hotel and got unpacked. went to the outside pool for what would be the only time during our stay, and went swimming and tanned for a wee bit. then we went back to the room only to get a phone call from the main desk saying they accidentally gave us the wrong room. hmm. soooo we packed up again and started upstairs to our rightful room, only to find out it wasnt ajoining like our first one was, which is what my mama requested. so, rather upset, my mama went to the front desk and argued for a wee bit, and eventually got a discount on the rooms. wootness. so it wasnt that bad. got unpacked again, and finally decided to do some shopping. so we walked down main street in hyannis and hit up all the gift shops in the town lol. i splurged. yay. i got a couple rings, including a mood ring (woot), and a reeeeally cool bracelet that has all these oriental symbols on it. coolness if i do say so myself. then i got an oh so cool bag that is the closest thing you guys will ever see me carry to a purse. but i heart it. its kinda got an african design to it. soooo then we walked back to the hotel and drove to old country buffet for supper. yummy. then we went out mini golfing. woooo. too bad i came in last place lol. almost got eaten alive too until the kind souls in front of us gave us some bug spray, which we had forgotten. yeah, not too pleased with the bug bites on my butt! anyhoooooo, then we came back the room and went swimming in the indoor pool which was way warmer than the outside one. altho we had the unfortunate company of a really obnoxious little boy. but! thats ok. came back to the room around 1030, took a shower, collapsed into bed. end of day one.
was awoken once again at the crack of dawn, approximately 6:45. got all ready and ate some donuts, and traveled to the whale watch place for 8:15. hit up the gift shop and whatnot, and eventually headed out at 9. yeah, when they tell you its gunna be colder out on the water, they dont emphasize it enough. it was soooo windy and cold, but all the same pretty cool to be on the water. saw a ton of whales, like 8 i think. mostly finback whales, which are pretty big, and then a few little minke whales. we even got to see them feeding, so one kept lunging on its back and side to get the fish. pretty awesome. i got a few good pictures too. so we were out there for like 4 hours. unfortunately the motion sickness stuff we took causes extreme drowsiness, so if there wasnt a whale in sight, we spent most of the time sleeping. when we got back to the room at around 1:30, we had every intention of doing more gift shopping, until one by one we all conked out on the bed and slept till 5 lol. oops. then we really did go gift shopping. and then we went out to dinner and i got to eat my lobster. oooohhh sooooo gooooood. it was amazing let me tell you. finally came back to the room and went swimming again, and then went to bed around 11.
woke up pretty late this morning, like 9:45. got all packed up and the such. then we went out to breakfast and this quaint little irish place we used to go to that has awesome food. then decided for the heck of it to drive up the cabins we use to go to way back when we went on vacation. completely drove past the office and parked and went on the private beach lol. then i decided, i didnt come all this way not to put my feet in the ocean, so i marched on down that beach and took my sandals off and stood in the atlantic ocean. then i ran back lol. aaanddd then we finally started home. slept most of the way again and got home around 330. yaaaay. and that was my awesome vacation.
chilled out at home until like 7 when jason called me. yaaay. went over and helped him move some of the stuff up to the new apartment in amherst. its sooooo nice. im jealous lol. and the neighborhood is awesome. it kinda reminds me of northampton, but you can walk around and theres TONS of places to go and eat and shop and everything. and i only have like another month and a half to enjoy it before school. pooooooo. but its still cool.
so. now that ive completed this exceedingly long update, im going to bed. so i can bring jason to his very last day at the east longmeadow big y. *sheds a tear* goodnight all.
