I've tried four times since Avengers opened to get a ticket, but every time they've been sold out. Not sure if this is proof of how woeful cinema offerings are at the moment or just how much my local cinema sucks: for some reason they've only scheduled two screenings in 3D a day, apparently not expecting people to treat this like LOTR. (Not surprised, really, because they're pretty hopeless in general. They don't even accept EFTPOS, because apparently it's 1995. The things you can pull off when you're the only cinema in town!)
Also this is a really good idea: a contest for alternatives to the dreaded leather catsuit invariably used in any depiction of Mara Jade (via). I mean, full-body leather's not really practical for active wear, one assumes. Among the multitude of other reasons this outfit is all wrong. Though I suppose it's probably warmer than the outfit Leia's most associated with?
Also just realised looking at that cover art from Sacrifice that Mara's in a variant of that weird spine-straining rear-and-chest posture female characters alllways get posed in. I suppose at least there's the suggestion of movement there in this case, but that head position doesn't look comfortable. The longer I look at it, the more I'm wondering what her neck's doing...
