Facebook: opt-in security, y/n?

I don't understand Facebook's issues with basic security/privacy. If you're a Facebook user this is definitely worth doing, because yes, if you don't, Facebook sends your login data completely unencrypted. Because that can't be a bad thing at all.

Saw The King's Speech finally. Bit puzzling as to why a movie that came out in December didn't show at the local cinema until late January, but at least it did screen. Was a bit worried it wouldn't bear up under the output of the hype machine, but it's a) intensely personal in its focus and b) has a fantastic cast, so it survived and manages to be a pretty damned good movie. Not only were Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush excellent (because, duh), but Helena Bonham Carter is brilliantly sardonic and funny and there's also surprise!Guy Pearce and surprise!Jennifer Ehle (with an only occasionally wobbly Australian accent). The plot doesn't strive too hard at being unconventional, but it's more character study than anything else, and by keeping its focus small it manages to do what it wants to do very, very well.

I wish it would rain or storm or something. It's 25.6 degrees, 87% humidity, and it's 9 o'clock at night. And this is cooler than it has been in days. Meanwhile Perth is on fire and what's happening in the US? Last I saw half of the country was buried under snow.

Time for some nice boring weather now, please?
