I think my iPod may be very unwell -- it's telling me it has an extremely low battery and then refusing to charge when connected because it says it's full. And last time I plugged it in, it asked me to reformat the iPod for Windows, to which I said thanks but no. This does not seem promising.

I almost picked up Darksaber to reread today, but a flick through the first chapter convinced me not to, what with Han mentally referring to Luke as Luke Skywalker more than once (because why wouldn't you continually think of your brother-in-law by his full name?), unnecessary escapades as fake Tuskens, and Luke fondling the casing of a bubbling brain-in-a-jar-on-legs and offering to help it find peace with its existence. In fact, I almost feel a certain fondness for LOTF and its complete lack of disturbing brain jar moments after this experience.

And there may be news on the live action Star Wars show? (Completely irrelevant sidenote: I can't see Rose Byrne now without thinking of Anakin/Dormé manips. Argh.) I don't know whether to be hopeful or not. TV sci-fi is a fairly narrow field, and I wonder about how you'd make Star Wars work in a live action serial format. Setting it around secondary characters in a relatively unexplored era does take away some of that baggage, I suppose. And at least it's not more Clone Wars. I haven't even caught that series yet (in either book, movie or TV format) and I'm a little exhausted by the extent of coverage for the era.

star wars, rambling
