Ewoks and other miscellanea

Team building workshops are teh sucketh, particularly when it means going in on a Saturday. And when it involves role playing staff/customer roles. For the fail, work.

I rewatched RotJ for the first time in far too long last night, and I love that movie. I have to admit that I don't mind the Ewoks. Yes, furry cuteness, and their battle scenes are a trifle too long, but Han gets to be sarcastic and uncomfortable! And apparently they like putting Leia in dresses and doing her hair, because that's what you do when you're a waist-tall alien species! Luke is so disturbed at being inducted into their tribe he is compelled to surrender himself to Vader! What's not to like?

It's a little odd that Han gets a camouflage-style jacket when everyone else has to wear ponchos and helmets. And also, why go to the effort of disguising your strike team and then have them accompanied by a gleaming gold droid who is physically unable to move covertly in foliage? Possibly overthinking this. :p And how unfazed are Han and Leia by Artoo getting shot? Poor Threepio, he's the only one who cares.

Also, it's interesting to note the way that Yoda and Ben verbally manoeuvre around Vader. Both of them use words like 'face' and 'confront'; Luke's the only one to come out and use the word 'kill'. I can't recall the dialogue from RotS, but it would be interesting to compare how it's discussed there. And interesting to think that in RotS, outrightly killing Anakin is exactly what Obi-Wan held back from in the end.
