Hey everyone :)
Today's a beautiful day! ; ) 77 degrees.... A nice way for summer to begin!
- went to Rudy's for a haircut. They did a good job. So I'm ready for GAY PRIDE OF 2008!!! Woohoo! :)
- Walked around Cap Hill.. Granted, I haven't been to Cap Hill much since I moved to downtown... I was shocked to see Mexican restaurant that's near the tattoo place (Laughing Buddha, I think?) has been out of business. I was thinking, ah, another cap hill business down... At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if there are any gay businesses. Everything has either moved further, closed, etc.
- We won't have a gay parade at Cap Hill this year, not even any gay booths at Volunteer Park! This year it's all downtown....I guess everyone has accepted that downtown's now the new site of gay parade.....sad, but true. I remember two years ago, there were huge complaints about this issue, but now, I haven't heard of any compliants, not even in Seattle Gay News.....Sad, but life moves on...lt's better to have one than have nothing, right?
So far what has been closed down or moved away in Cap Hill: Crypt (moved further), Taco Bell (closed down), Mexican restaurant (closed down), Jack in the Box (closed down), That independent computer store that used to be next to music store (closed down).... I know some of them are closed down due to the Light Rail being set up on that path, but still......QFC (old one) that's across from Broadway's Market has been closed down for years now....A restaurant that starts with 12-- something has closed down.....Thumpers has been closed down..... Men's Room (CC'S) is supposed to be next, but so far haven't been closed down (that's good!)....Manray closed down...Sugar closed down.... That magazine store that's next to subway has moved to another new location...So has that old Twice sold (?) bookstore moved to another location...
AS you can see, there are tooooo many changes and Cap Hill NOW is not the same I used to know five to seven years ago.....Oh well...
Summer's on!!!! Let's enjoy it :)
Love,
Michael
